perseverance theatre juneau

Considering the connections between Perseverance Theatre and the Washington DC area theatre community, I had to go see a show there. On a recent three week trip to Alaska, I made special arrangements to attend a performance of Chicago. Musicals are not my favorite type of show, and I am particularly wary of musicals in small venues. Thus I entered the theatre with some trepidation. The show was a pleasant surprise. The designers expanded the small stage by by adding a balcony across the top. I have seen Chicago on Broadway, and there it suffered excess and over production with special effects and elaborate staging. Here none of those elaborate staging tricks were used. It was a plain production; As a result the music and plot came to the fore in a way they never did on Broadway. The remaining plays in their 2014/15 season look good

We went for our anniversary. We had front row seats in the little theater in Douglas. We saw An Illiad, which was a one man show accompanied by a cellist. It was a great performance. We will be going back soon.

The performances are great,with both local and professional talent. And the sets are always very imaginative, effective, and just plain fun to watch.

For the most part, whenever I'm in Juneau, have the time to come to their performances has made me, bored, crying, laughing over time. It's great to come to one of their performances, especially when they offer pay as you can.

This is a very small theatre that does outstanding work. The casting is consistently excellent. The sets are amazing. Every play I've ever seen here has been superbly executed. This is a guaranteed fun activity.

We saw Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. It was excellent. All the actors did a great job. Made me want to read the play and see the movie to see how closely it all tracks. Theater was very intimate. Highly recommend it. It is pay what you can. Be generous I've paid a lot for way less!!!

Took my family to watch Treasure Island a couple weeks ago. It was a good play with entertaining sets and performers. It was kid friendly and well done. Been to other plays that weren't so kid friendly, but still entertaining. Would recommend this theatre to others and I will go back.
