We are from Taiwan.

Very good considering the driving distance - beautiful view - challenging trail.15 minutes drive from my place.really nice view overlooking anchorage & turnagain - knik arm & the sleeping lady (Mt. Susitna). Sometime you get to see Denali as well. The rocky trails also add up the fun factor.

What a treat. It was 15 degrees on the day we decided to make the hike but we were determined. The sky was clear and the drive pretty easy once our GPS figured out where we wanted to go:) Be careful when hiking ...there are moose about about in the area. We walked up the first path from the parking lot and a moose was standing in our path. Luckily there were people standing around which drew our attention otherwise we might have bumped right into him! He was pretty cool and eventually walked off and continued eating and ignoring the hikers and their dogs. It was freezing at the top and very windy but you cannot beat the view. Well worth the trek even in the cold. Everyone we met along the way was friendly and helpful to two Floridans a bit out of their element;)

We did this hike as a school field trip. The kids picked enough berries for a class canning project. The views are spectacular! We found the flora to be interesting, especially the blue pine cones. It rained on and off but it didn't seem to bother any hiker. This is a fee station area. You must pay a fee at an automated fee collection machine, and put the receipt on your dashboard. This is a popular hiking area.

We did this while it was snowing in early November which made an easy-moderate hike moderate- difficult. Not far from Anchorage (a 15 minute drive) and a well marked trailused regularly by locals, gives great views of the mountains and of Anchorage.

This is an easy to get to trail right in Anchorage and if you have the guts to go the last couple hundred yards you will get some great Views of the entire city and the park behind it.

A local friend recommended this trail. The weather was good and it was a clear morning. There were good instructions explaining all options to accommodate different fitness levels. Remember to pack fluids and keep spare batteries next to your body as you will want to take photos and it does get cold up there. Also there are parking fees but no entrance fees.

Right on the outskirts of the city... A must do! Without trekking out into the total wilderness, Flat Top is worth the view and safe! Bring a sweater!

So, I went around August and it was drizzling and cold. Well it started as a fine mist and by the time we were almost to the top it was raining. The path was scary because I guess we were up in the clouds or something so I couldn't see down the side of the mountain and the path was slippery and there was nothing to keep you from falling. It might be because I come from Houston where our "mountains" would be like the highway or something, it's really flat here but I was scared! I felt dumb because there were little kids in flip flops passing me up! I think I would try it again next time hopefully when it's not raining because I hear it's nice when you get to the top, I had to quit because I'm a big baby :P

This is easily the most popular hike in Anchorage, both for tourists and for residents. The mountain can be ascended in anywhere between 45 minutes and two hours, depending on your physical ability and exertion. For those who are not feeling up to the challenge, there is a small loop with a still wonderful view of anchorage located adjacent to the main parking lot. I would recommend this hike to anyone looking for a taste of the outdoors, but for those looking for a less touristy or busy option in the summer, I would try the adjacent Little O'malley peak or Wolverine Mountain for more of a challenge.

Just a short drive away from downtown this hike is just what visitors need! After finding a spot to park you can take in the view with a short walk around the path just off of the parking lot or hike to the top! The average hiker will take at least 50 minutes to get to the top. No need to push yourself when you will be wanting to take pictures of the surrounding view.Be sure to bring a wind breaker or a warm layer for the top even when hiking during the summer. Watch out for wildlife and muddy conditions.ENJOY THE VIEW!Cheers

Good view, Great night photography. Need car. Winter - better to have a good tire as icy road can be hard to drive

At the top there are the most beautiful breathtaking views of anchorage! The hike up was alot of stairs but well worth it! Beautiful post card pics.

This hike is just on the outskirts of town and is well worth the trip. It's a moderate climb except for the last 200 yards, but that extra effort is well worth it. Once on top, you have a panoramic view of the Anchorage area.Pets are allowed.

astonishing views of the anchorage bowl, great to get up and see the views and surrounding areas. This hike has lots of stairs. Best to do when the snow is melted
