食物普通,服务普通。位置还可以。菜单有日文,有沙西米,有面。吃起来失望。老板会出来打招呼,但是看以来就是韩国人。

I just don't understand people who complain because they don't get to go because of bad weather. I would much rather have a trip canceled and stay alive and well than go with a company that "pushes the envelope" when it comes to flying in dangerous weather. It is hard to understand it you don't live here, that just because it looks good here, it could be very bad at the other end.About 4 years ago, my husband and I got to go to the camp at Hallo Bay I was scheduled for 2 weeks, my husband for 2 days (because of his work schedule). He ended up getting weathered in for an additional 4 days. I am ever grateful that this company puts the safety of their guest before the profit of their company. We got to see lots of bears and other wildlife and we will remember the trip for the rest of our lives. If you have the time and the patience to understand you may not get to go if they feel it isn't safe, I highly recommend this company to be your choice to get you to where the bears are and home again safe and sound.

The people at Hallo bay are very professional and I had a wonderful time seeing the Bears up close and felt very safe,

Wouldn't recommend as we stayed in Homer for a number of days & because of weather, trips kept being postponed until we could wait no longer..............extra costs associated with staying and they don't refund the money you have paid. Not good.............

My daughter and I had a GREAT experience during our stay at Hallo Bay Bear Camp. The staff is very professional and did a fine job ensuring our stay was focused on viewing bears in their natural habitat (we saw bear every day!), while also enjoying the wonder and beauty of Katmai National Park. The camp is well organized, reasonably comfortable, and the food can’t be beat – three cheers for Sue the camp cook! The courtesy and professionalism shown us throughout our experience with Hallo Bay Bear Camp will not be forgotten anytime soon, and I hope we can get back to the camp in the future – it is well worth the time!

An unforgettable experience. Fly in a six passenger bush plane. Land on a beach at low tide. On our trip, there were bears on the beach when we landed. Understand, seeing bears cannot be guaranteed. The flight is weather based and can be cancelled. Those two factors are beyond anyone's control. Our guide and pilot were great!

The over night trip to Hallo Bay was the highlight of our trip. We had an amazing time and saw loads grizzlies fishing, digging and doing other bear things. It was the splurge for our 2 week trip to Alaska, but so worth it! Everyone at the camp really cared about our experience and went out of their way to be sure we all had an enjoyable, yet safe, time. Don't expect luxury accommodations, but the weather proof tents were perfect. Safety was always a priority. The most amazing time was in the morning before we left when we were able to watch a mother and 2 cubs digging for clams in the sand at the beach. Our guide, Lance, was outstanding! I can't recommend Hallo Bay enough. You have to go, and do at least the overnight trip if you can.

Did a day trip to Hallo Bay--flight over is beautiful. Bear watching in a wilderness setting...saw many different bear behaviors.

We(my husband and I) had booked the overnight tour and needless to say we were excited! Thanks to mother nature, our flight took off without problems as planned at 10.30 am and we landed around 11.30 at Hallo Bay Bear Camp! The beach landing was amazing too! The staff were extremely warm and welcoming and briefed us on the safety measures for staying! Loved the way they manage every minute things on camp so as to just let us "leave our footprints" and nothing else! The facilities were top-notch and the tents were beautifully maintained! We had 2 bear viewing sessions for the day and both were ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! First session was thrilling with around 11 bears around us and one coming super close within feet of distance to us but the guide (Lance) knew how to keep us safe when the situation demanded! He was cool, he knew a lot about bears in general and about the bears living there! It was wonderful having him tell us which bear does what! He was humorous too and kept us pumped up for more sightings! Second session was awesome with around 8-9 bears in the vicinity and two huge male bears playing right in front of us at a very very close distance! We also (thankfully) had some time in the morning too for a short hike and got to see around 6 bears then too before we left the camp; but the highlight being we also saw two wolves :) Best ever! That was only the third sighting of the wolves this year and we got to witness it close! This trip gave us some of the best memories of our life and we have the Hallo Bay camp staff to thank for that! The food was great too - we are vegetarians and we were catered to very very well! Overall, it was as memorable as memorable can be! Do yourself a favor and book a trip to Hallo Bay!

Reading all the reviews after having booked the Hallo Bay Camp and coming to their office being told I still had to pay half the bill, which I was sure I did already, I really did regret that I booked the whole thing. But once we stepped on to the beach and walked that great place I changed my mind. It was just absolutely wonderful. Bears dancing, Bears chasing Salmon, Bears everywhere. After dinner we walked to the creek, 8 Bears again, it was just all to good to be true. The camp is what it is, you have what is needed in bear country, it is basic but a hundred times better than camping out in the wild in a tiny little tent. If I would have known I would have stayed for four nights, which next time I will do. Look no further, it is the place for those good old Teddies.Only problem I had was transferring money from Europe, that did not work and their credit card online booking is a joke, but a bad one. Please change that and get a decent pay page for credit cards, secured, we live in 2014 and yes, that is possible. Wells Fargo may go for Americans, but not for the rest of the world.

This review gets 5 stars based on the service of the camp staff however if based on the service received prior to arrival I would give it a 2-3 star rating. We were a bit nervous having paid what to us a lot of money for a one night stay with very little communication from the office staff. We were overseas clients on a trip of a lifetime and this one night was our major expense of our trip to Alaska. We had to chase numerous times online and on the phone to see that emails had been received as we were not getting responses to questions and we also had to chase up that they had received our international wired payment. With any wildlife viewing it is not guaranteed and we were over the moon that we got to see so much. Do your research for when the salmon is running and if you can afford the night, then stay as it gives you so much more opportunity in an environment that is not overrun. Sue is the ray of sunshine that greets you when you enter the main tent. When she saw us just standing in the middle of the room a bit lost as the staff member who flew in with us walked away she took over and gave us a brief rundown. Sue cooks amazing meals, cakes & biscuits and every time you walked into the tent she was smiling and happy to chat. The tented accommodation is comfortable and spacious and the composting toilets clean. We did not use the shower.Lance our guide was fantastic and we had an awesome 2 days with him. He has a great nature, likes a joke and easy to talk with. We got to see many bears, a couple of eagles and a fox. We were at the camp mid July so we were able to witness fishing on the beach and in the stream.

This was one of the most exciting events during our Alaska adventure. We gave ourselves an afternoon, plus the morning of the following day to try and take this day trip. The weather did not permit it the first afternoon, but the office staff tried very hard to accommodate us. Beverly called us at 5:00 a.m. with a weather update, and a couple more times after checking with base camp and the pilot. We did manage to leave the tarmac at 8:00 a.m. and with Sirina as our guide went to Clark Preserve where the bears were digging for clams or eating in the meadow. If you want to see them fishing, it needs to be the end of July, Aug, or Sept. We definitely appreciated the perseverance of the staff to try and meet our needs.

I've lived in Alaska 35 years and have always wanted this experience, but due to finances, waited for the right moment to take myself and my 14 year old son. We had out of state visitors and went as a group. The office is friendly and helpful and the pilot was tops. However, we had a 7 AM departure planned when we booked, and were bumped to later in the day showing up just after noon. Before we left, I asked if the heat of the day would be conducive to bear viewing- as I was concerned they would be resting out of sight. They assured me it would be fine- well, not fine. We saw one lone bear way out in surf clamming, and a mother bear with twin cubs- resting 150 yards away. I do understand there is no control over animal behavior but I would have thought they would know that a hot sunny day, mid-day might not yield anything close to the videos shown in the lobby of their waiting area. I would also hope an offer of a second chance would have been made. Another lesson is to pay attention to fish runs- there were almost no salmon running at this date - July 1- and so that impacts behavior as well- just recommend you do your homework as much as possible before making the investment. Some outfitters offer "bear cams" so you can even check before you head out. I'm sure on another day and time it is as fabulous as your other reviews but for us, a bit of a bust.

I've watchd wildlife all over the world (I'm a travel journalist), and have been lucky enough to have many amazing wildlife encounters. But my stay at Hallo Bay really did surpass my expectations - especially having a huge alpha female flop down and rest just 12-15 feet away from us. Simyra was a terrific guide; authorative, calm, professional but fun. The whole team were impressive. The stay at Hallo Bay was the highlight of our stay in Alaska - which itself was one of the best trips I've taken.
