On the parks website, you're advised to take Shady Lake Road to get to the trailhead - except that the road is blocked off by a barrier and there is a "Dead End" sign. If you're driving from Athens, you have to take the previous road - Goat Ranch Road, which is a track that is a bit tricky to navigate if you're in a regular car.Anyway, the trailhead is nicely marked when you get to it and, if you follow the white marks on the trees, the trail itself is fairly easy to spot.Some parts were overgrown and there were some monster spider's webs across the path but, otherwise, the trail was enjoyable. It's not as tough as the website claims, with very few steep parts but, equally, not many lookout vistas either. Good for an energetic hike, not so much if you're looking for an amazing view as a reward.
