The cemetery is well ķept. Could have had an index at the gate. That would be a good eagle scout service project.

It was a sobering and moving experience to see so many headstones of so many who lost their lives in this battle. It was quiet and peaceful. The grounds are kept up nicely as are the headstones. We enjoyed walking around the grounds. If you're into the Civil War, this is a nice addition to your visit to Prairie Grove.

Wonderful history for the teenagers to realize what our nation went through during the civil war. Good headstones and history to be discussed for future generations.

The cemetery itself is pretty interesting. Very little literature available, which is unfortunate. Main issue is parking. No spots- just a driveway and a sign that says no parking on grass.... very confusing.

Enjoyed a picnic in this hillside cemetery with my family. Beautiful, hidden gem. We enjoyed looking at all of the tomb stones and the beautiful old trees were lovely.

This is a nice small cemetery with not a lot to see, but some very interesting history. I went close to sunset and kind of creeped myself with all the different noises!

There are very few cemeteries for confederate soldiers and it was great to find this one. The area was great and the cemetery was well landscaped. The monument in the center was very inspirational...

This cemetery overlooks Fayetteville and is very well laid out. Great tribute to the falling from the Civil War. Worth the time...

Definitely a place to search out. The final resting place for so many young men who went to war for a cause they believed in. Their lives were snuffed out in an instant, giving their "last full measure".

This place has nostalgia for me. My great grandfather fought at Pea Ridge with the 3rd Illinois cavalry. The soldiers buried at this cemetery are all rebs who died in that battle. If you explore a bit you will find other old graves out of the rebel part of it. It is a pretty setting; but somber and haunting. My wife and I were married in the gazebo there. This little cemetery has a special place in my heart. Every time I go to Fayetteville I visit this cemetery. It's a nice peaceful place.

If you like old markers in old cemeteries, you should definitely stop here. It's a nice quiet place to contemplate and investigate.

Extremely humbling. A place of solitude. All those blank headstones of those who fought and died in the Civil War. Sad to think of the families who never knew what happened to their loved ones, or where there remains were laid to rest. The founders of the Cemetery proved a consecrated burial site for them. Now anyone can go to the Cemetery and say a prayer for the people who were laid to rest and give them their thanks for fighting for their country. During the evening visit, the Cemetery has an odd feel to it. I was lucky enough to catch a lot of orbs with my camera, for which I told those in the Cemetery, thank you for showing themselves in the way of orbs. Perhaps you too may catch something with your camera. During the day, there is a quiet and peaceful feeling in the Cemetery. I would recommend both a day, and an evening, visit to this Cemetery.

Very old and wonderful Civil War burial for Confederate soldiers - mostly unknown. Amazing history behind the cemetery. Beautiful trees in October. One section of the stone wall is completely broken down (reminded me of the breach in the walls that Nehemiah wrote about). The historic and small Walker cemetery to the East is a treasure. Beyond the Walker cemetery to the North and East is a travesty of neglect and vandalism of extremely old graves. Completely overrun with trees, brush, weeds and ice storm damage. How odd to show extreme respect for the unknowns in the Confederate Cemetery and Historic recognition for the Walker Cemeterybut contempt or indifference to the oldest area there.

I had a little trouble finding this place, My GPS didn't have it listed, so i had to ask a few locals how to get there. If you are coming from the south, go up College past the courthouse and take the next left. Go up the hill, past the housing projects, and its at the top of the hillA very interesting spot to think about our country's divided past. I had to walk to the East side of the cemetery to walk over the wall. I interrupted a coyote that was enjoying the cemetery as a green space. I had the entire place to myself. I spend about half an hour looking over things and contemplating the "Fables of the Reconstruction."

This is an out of the way spot in Fayetteville, but well worth the side trip. The small cemetery is a beautiful location. The neighborhoods around the place are not great, but this is a special place to connect to our nation's history. The fall is probably the best time to visit when the trees are full of color.
