Not much there but just markers of the incidents that occurred there during the Civil War. Any history major who is a Civil War history buff would like to know more and see history come alive. I wish there was some time of interactive exhibit here but it is in a residential area and a bit hard to get to.
Wasn't my favorite part. Well manicured however. Overall area was large and a good history lesson. Children may not appreciate the large area so much
When you’re arriving at this battlefield you feel like you’re being misled into some neighborhood. It’s tucked away in a neighborhood behind some houses. There really isn’t much to see, but the cell phone tour makes it worth the stop. I bet it’s pretty neat to visit during the reenactment which is sometime this month (July) according to a civil war website. I didn’t see actual dates, so I’m guessing it was earlier this month.
This park is small and you think you are going to visit someone but in my opinion if you have visited Pea Ridge or any other battle field along the Arkansas Oklahoma border then you should try and make this park as well yes it is small and the walking trail is short but the cell phone tour is worth the listen. IF you can make it on a reenactment day then by all means stop.
Like to go there when they have the civil war re-enactment. But if that is not going on not anything there to see.
Do not get concerned when you turn into a neighborhood, this small park sits almost in someones backyard. But this small park with a short walking trail is worth a stop for the Civil War enthusiast. Take the time to listen to the cell phone tour and walk the trail.
