Did the dam site overlook and walked by the river and fishery...it was a good time having a camp fire by the river with friends

We enjoyed two days on this beautiful lake. We had great weather, which helped, so nice, calm water. We took a boat tour one day, and the boat shuttle to Sugarloaf Mountain the next day. Both were great!

Beautiful, clean & quiet. The fish we caught were delicious! An adventure we will always talk about.

We enjoyed the entire area. The hikes from the visitor center along the bluff are fun to hike. We also did the one up by JFK Memorial

Heber Springs Park is our favorite campground on Greer's Ferry Lake. It is open from March 1st to October 31st. There are 6 camping areas--A, B, C, D, E, and F. B and C are primitive and currently closed. A and F have electric and all sites are wooded. E is primitive and all sites are wooded. Now, let's talk about campsite D, the star of this park. 25 of D's 50+ sites are right on the water. Just a few short steps and you can jump into 20+ ft deep cool crystal clear water. Most of the campsites in D are non reservable. It is first come, first serve. We have only ever stayed in campsite D. We have tent camped and trailer camped. We always go in July and heat and bugs are never a problem. My husband fishes some and I love to lounge and float. You can usually see 10 to 15 feet down. If you have smaller children, the single digit sites and the sites in the 40's have shallower "beach" areas. Even if you can't get a site right on the water, there are really no bad sites in this area. There is a boat ramp and a swim beach in the park. The bath houses are clean. Yes, there is only electricity at this park, but there are 3 or 4 areas to fill water tanks. Heber Springs Marina is located within this park and we rent a pontoon every year. You can't beat all day for $300! We absolutely love this park. They even cut and stack firewood if they have to trim trees, for free, how awesome is that! We have friends who are not outdoorsy and hate camping (I know, CRAZY), but love to visit us when we are here.

Never had a bad time at Greers Ferry Lake. We have family reunions there and we all bring our boats and jet skis. It's usually a weekend event and there's plenty of places to eat. Not much as far as the little town but who needs to go to town with a beautiful lake to play in. It's a very large lake, clean and some good fishing. There is a grocery store and a $ store in the area.

The size of Greers Ferry Lake never fails to amaze me - in places it looks more like an ocean! I've been visiting family in this area since before the lake existed, and perhaps what most amazes me is that it has retained its pristine natural beauty for more than half a century. This trip we fished - quickly catching bass next to one of the public boat docks. Last trip the highlight was water-skiing, and we're planning to return next summer to do more of both...

We live in Memphis and make the 3 hour drive to spend the day here instead of the many lakes in our own area. The water is clean and crystal clear. You can relax and float on the water, jump of the cliffs into the lake or sit on the rocky shores and take in the sun and sights. The water is so clear that you can sit on the float or rocks and watch all the fish and even ducks swim around you. Yesterday we had many rainbow trout fish swimming around us on the float. They were so awesome to watch. My son and his friend enjoy jumping of the cliffs while we watch. Always lots of over people to interact with if you choose to. I kinda get on my float and check out drifting around in my own world. The marina is great, lots of picnic sites and camping areas. Always a great day on this lake. My only complaint is that other than the lake there is nothing else in the town to eat. It's isn't enough to keep us from coming back though.

Great, clear water lake, lots of miles to ride and ski and fish and whatever floats your boat. Multiple accesses around the lake.

Greers Ferry Lake has 600 miles of shoreline and is located in northcentral Arkansas. I am most familiar with the Choctaw Park access to the lake, Just 5 minutes south of Clinton. The Lake and campsites are clean and family friendly. Great fishing, swimming, skiing and relaxing.

We went over to the Island and took a beautiful hike to the top. You can see eagles if your lucky. It's so worth the hike.

Greers Ferry is absolutely beautiful with the clearest lake water I've ever seen! There are several cliffs to climb and safely jump from. Boats gather in the cove to watch the kids jump screaming into the lake. Plenty of quiet spots to fish. There is also a restaurant you can boat up to, tie off and go up for a meal. We loved it so much that we bought a lake front place so we could visit as often as possible. You'll have a great time!

This is a forty thousand acre lake that is crustal clear. As a Corps of engineers lake most homes are situated to cause minimal visual presence so on most of the lake you feel like you are alone. Greers Ferry lake is located in "dry" counties so if you want alcohol you need to bring it. If you love water sports or just the outdoors it is heaven. I am retired and could live any place I choose but live here on Greers Ferry Lake so that must say something.
