We have boated on Beaver Lake, Arkansas, since 1977 and have seen the number of boats and boaters grow exponentially every year. Though the authorities will tell you the water quality is excellent, we have seen a marked deterioration in the clearness of the water, especially over the last 4 or 5 years. Don't get me wrong, the only lake we've boated on that is "cleaner" is Lake Ouachita near Hot Springs. The spectacular bluffs around the lake are amazing, especially if you have not seen them before. The "party coves" move from year to year due to the increased enforcement of the "boating under the influence" laws and the price of gasoline! Be forewarned that there should be a designated driver when you venture out on Beaver Lake..
From eagle cruises, dining cruises, all sorts of water sports, the dam, restaurants and nature. You'll find all that & more at this immense man-made lake.
There are many access points to the lake with plentiful stunning views. Take the round trip from Eureka Springs and cross the dam if you haven't been before.
Great place to get away and either relax or fish. Many locations to launch boat or camp all around the lake. Water is very clear near the dam, with visibility up to 30 feet.
Cruised across the dam and discovered the old Dinosaur World. Could see all of them through the trees, but property says no trespassing.
We drove up to Beaver Lake and the leaves were beautiful. The roads are nice and winding and the scenary is excellent!
Since we visiited at the end of fall when it was very cold, we enjoyed the lake from the comfort of our beautiful cottage.
Fishing, kaayaking, boating, SUPboarding, sunbathing, picnining on the bluffs... the natural beauty of this lake will astound you!
Faboulous bluffs and gorgeous shoreline. I enjoyed the drive and the views. I bet the boating in summer is Fab.
My wife, 18 yo daughter and I enjoyed a nice picnic lunch and refreshing swim on our last visit (August 2014). Can't beat the view of the mountains and trees ...very relaxing afternoon!
I have hiked, camped and enjoyed boating at Beaver many times. The lake is very clean and beautiful. The late October fall color is not to be missed.
Beautiful and serene! A must-see in the Ozarks! You HAVE to cross the wooden bridge- it's amazing!!"Beaver Dam" is not a beaver dam, but a hydro-electric dam that has AWESOME views!
If you are a nature lover this is the place to stay. At Beaver Lake Cottages you can rent a pontoon for half a day if you wish. Tour the lake and it's beauty. Water is very clear.
Lots of scenic views. Blue water and beautiful trees - particularly when both are viewed in Autumn when the leaves are changing.
This is a great lake, the information walls near the damn were very informative. We took our pooch to the water quite often as loved the swimming.
