Hike past a scenic pond and through a small forest of pine and oak to...

This is a hike I took off-season, so I cannot speak to how crowded it may during other times of the year. This hike is very easy, with clearly defined trails that lead to gorgeous views from Bungalow Hill and Ocean Lawn. You only need about an hour for the entire loop; but certainly, on a beautiful day, you'll want to linger on the beach. There are well-defined trail maps available at the trail head.

This is just a park-like setting--a good place to take a walk. Great ocean views, nothing historically interesting, but on a pretty day--it's a nice place. I wouldn't recommend it on a cold or windy day.

Part of the hike was closed today so we took what was probably the shorter route to the ocean and it was a fantastic destination as we found ourselves on a beautiful sandy beach with a great view of the ocean. The waves splashed along the shore which was lined with gulls resting on the sand. Well worth it! Free parking. Few people. Wonderful short hike.

Bit of a hike to get there, and not much parking, but you are not going to find a better place for a picnic on the north shore. Just a huge, very green lawn stretching ahead to a rocky shore and some amazing ocean views. When the water is too cold for swimming (in either May or October), this is the place to be. Benefits of the beach, but none of the crowds or mess.

Coolidge Reservation is always gorgeous and when the bushes are powdered with snow, bending towards the trail, it is more lovely than ever. The hill, woods, Great Lawn, and beach all lend themselves well to snowshoes.

The Coolidge Reservation is well worth a side trip if you are visiting Cape Ann.....There is a short trail to the Great Lawn, an enormous expanse of rolling green to the ocean. The views are amazing, and there are lovely benches to rest. I would recommend bringing a towel or blanket, and just rest, listen to the ocean, read.........watch the geese. Breathe.

This was the site of a large and famous mansion, owned by a descendent of Thomas Jefferson, and now gone. It is now a huge grassy lawn on a rocky cliff looking out to Boston and offshore islands. You can walk to a nearby ocean beach and along a pond. Trails through the woods are rocky but not very long and can be managed by children and older adults-with care.

This is a property of The Trustees of Reservations and is well maintained. I love the walk through the woods, along Clark Pond, and then either over to Gray Beach or out to Coolidge Point, with its ocean views and great lawn. Nice benches under old trees and great place to sit, read a book, or just enjoy the ocean breezes.
