Sharp's at Waterford Farm is a family-owned and operated farm in the heart of rural Brookeville, MD. You'll find Sharp's located in a beautiful farmland setting close to the Patuxent River State Park, so why not make it a day trip!The farm is located off of a lengthy, gravel driveway that leads up to the barn and outbuildings. There is ample parking, but we recommend getting there earlier (by 1pm it was very busy!) on sunny, fall weekends to beat the rush. Enjoy a hayride into the expansive pumpkin patch where you can pick your own jack-o-lanterns and pie pumpkins. All pumpkins are sold by weight and both cash and credit is accepted at the check out area. Also included items for sale: apples, limited selection of fall produce, gourds, apple cider, fruit and pumpkin jams and butters, fall chrysanthemums, honey, etc.Goats, cows, pigs, chickens, and honeybees are also on display in holding pens surrounding the grounds. Do bring your small children on the hayride and to see the farm animals, but understand that the grounds are a combination of hard-packed dirt, gravel, with some grassy areas. Strollers may have a challenging time maneuvering the terrain, but a wagon would be a fantastic idea. A few are provided, but expect that they will be snatched up quickly.Do bring your own hand sanitizer for the port-o-john's and after touching animals.Do pack your own snacks as there is no food and beverage provided on the farm (aside from apples, pumpkins, etc.)Do bring a few quarters to access the feed machines for the farm animals so that you can take loads of pictures of little Johnny feeding corn to the goats. Do NOT bring your pets.Expect to spend an hour or two at the farm on a lovely fall day before returning home.
