lockhouse 49 - c&o canal trust

A night in Lockhouse 49 on the C&O Canal is a chance to step back over a century. The house was originally built in the 1830s, now with period furnishings. A notch above primitive - no indoor water or plumbing, but it does have electricity. Beds are fine. Fire ring and picnic table in the back, front porch with wonderful view.A great location right next to the bike path, just a few miles to Fort Frederick state park, about 9-10 miles to Williamsport, MD, which has a nice visitors center for history of the canal.This is a great place for an overnight for through-bikers on the canal path, as well as for a short getaway from DC or Baltimore.
