Fresh apples to pick. Surprising apples easy to reach too. Have been down there twice this season for apples. Apples are fresh and crisp and keep well when refrigerated. Much better than those available at the grocery stores and even fresher than most farmers markets. Bathroom are out door type but enter McDonald's on your GPS and it is just 8 minutes away and you can get a fry too at the same time. Applee type vary by time of year. Both times they had plenty and it was not that packed although there were plenty of cars since it was a weekend. They will be running out soon I think.

Several adults and a 3-year old went on a midweek trip to Homestead Farm where we picked apples. It was a short walk from where we parked to the area where we picked.There were lots hanging from the trees and they were easy to reach. The orchard was well marked and there were several varieties to pick. The farm market had a variety of fruits and vegetables, all beautifully displayed and reasonably priced.There are a variety of animals on the farm, including a calf, chickens, pigs, goats, and alpaca, to admire and feed. Everyone at the farm was welcoming and friendly. I'm eager to return.

Nothing says summer like fresh picked fruit! Homestead Farms is one of the local places where you can go and pick your own apples, peaches, blueberries and other fruits based on the season. Check out the website to see what is available (and for some great recipes!). When you arrive there is free parking. You can bring your own baskets/boxes/buckets or purchase some for a nominal fee there (note they are reusable).There is a market with pre picked fruits and vegetables plus some locally produced items, like jelly and honey. The prices are reasonable and everything is very fresh! There is also an area where you can buy a limited amount of snacks.One of the highlights of this farm are the animals that kids (and adults!) can go visit. Goats, chicken, pigs and sheep are fun to see. Then grab a ride on the truck that will take you to the orchard/farm area to pick some fruit. Once you are done, you get back on the truck where you bring your fruits to be weighed. Bear in mind you are outside and there are no restrooms in the fields... it would also be tough to maneuver a stroller in the grass. This is a great activity to do with your family or with a group.
