Back in the days when ponds were ok for skating,i managed a skate every day after school. This skating rink is a great place for families and teens, and maybe some of us nostalgic old folks who still have our own hips and knees. It is great to live in a community that provides these kinds of venues for their citizens. Kids young and old need them!

The largest and nicest ice arena in the Montgomery County area. Lots of local and travel youth and adult hockey leagues play here throughout the week, day and night. Three large ice rinks, public skate offered 5 days/week at varying times, stick time usually offered 3-4 days/week. Prices are very affordable. The rink also has a shop with hockey supplies if you're desperate, and a Village Grill with hot food and drinks. Usually quite clean throughout the arena.The only downside, many local parents seem to think this is daycare and proceed to drop their children off with a pocket full of money to buy energy drinks and skate around as if there were no parents around. Oh wait, there aren't, because they dropped their kids off at the door. Some of the skate guards are helpful in trying to watch out for the skaters who aren't amped up on caffeine and unsupervised. I would recommend families avoid Friday night public skate due to the large amount of teenagers that show up. There is no actual "trouble" with the teens, they just tend to be teenagers that I would rather not skate with a young child. Otherwise, Saturday/Sunday and the middle of the week have a much less crowded and more family friendly atmosphere. The arena also offers a variety of skating lessons for all ages and hockey camps throughout the year. Lots to see and do here for sure, and it doesn't hurt to go in the summer when it's 90 degrees outside!
