Most people I have talked with have stated that there is not much to see at this park. My take… it all depends in what you are looking to do.Sarigua National Park is different, especially for Panama. It is the only true dessert in this country. Considering how much rain Panama receives every year it can be difficult to believe that there is actually an area that receives so little rain it will be a dessert.First off, remember that the Azuero Peninsula is located in the “Dry Arc”. That means that this area receives less rainfall than most of the rest of the country. But the area where the National Park is located receives even less than that. All three of us enjoyed the day at Sarigua National Park because we appreciate the beauty of different landscapes. We also enjoyed the beautiful weather. (Again, most people would say that it is too hot.)The first part of the morning was spent driving around that area. Visited the little village of Puerto Limon. I do not understand why it was name the Port of Limon as there is no way a canoe could even make it up the river here. But it is a very cute village. Then we went to the National Park. It cost $5 for a tourist and $2 for locals (pensionado discount). It is truly amazing to see this place. But like I said, we enjoy the beauty of seeing different terrain. Wish that we could has seen the World War II Army plan crashed in the park. Unfortunately, the government does not spend much money on maintain the park.Buen Viaje, The International Vagabond
It is not a desert more like a dried up ocean bed has trees on the sides and cactus. Just one small lane in center to drive to end. Go to Montuoso forest reserve worth the visit but need 2 WD dirt roads.
Sad yet interesting.THE place could be more tourist oriented
