即使表演是面向外国人的,还是非常享受那场表演。它给了我们一个机会,了解卡塔尔卡里,欣赏简短的表演。如果你不打算游览喀拉拉邦的其他卡塔尔卡里,那么我认为这是你必看的一个地方。

我们去了喀拉拉的卡塔卡利中心(Kathakali Centre)看晚间的印度传统舞剧表演(Kathakali show),感觉很是精彩。我十分推荐。我建议提前一个小时去,这样可以看到演员们上妆,这个过程非常神奇,变化极大!中心会为观众作关于这种艺术的简短扼要的介绍,我觉得听完介绍,观众肯定能对接下来的表演有更深的理解。我们还在这里看了一场传统的喀拉拉邦武术表演。就算你对武术并不感兴趣,就动作的迅捷和技巧的精湛而言,也是极其精彩的表演。

这真是一次很有深意的文化之旅,我们当时是在2013年4月底来到这里旅游参观。我们建议各位最好在傍晚5点开始打上领带或是在脸上稍加修饰然后就可以开始这的旅行了。这的主要表演都配有相关的解释介绍,而且都有各种对于肢体动作和舞蹈内容的详细介绍解释,非常精彩,这都是蕴藏了整整6年的经验。我们后来又花了一点儿时间来听这的歌手和旁白来为我们介绍。非常迷人的一个夜晚,我们很满意,而且非常物超所值,整整2个半小时的表演只需要250元。

While in town well worth seeing the performance although the preshow which involves the face makeup is not to be missed. What they are dancing about you will have no idea. But worth it just to watch.

Great and a close to authentic performance and a must visit. When booking a ticket ask for a balcony seat to get a good view.

If you are visiting Fort Kochi, then this is a must do event. It is bang opposite the Tourist Information center, diagonally opposite to the Jetty station. They have a performance everyday from 5.30pm to 6.30pm and you get to see 3-4 dance forms. Kathakali, Bharatnatyam, Mohiniattam and kalaripayattu. They charge 400 INR and you can walk in by 4.30pm to watch an hour of make up session too as part of this package . It was a lovely experience and though i do not watch too many dance shows, this one was definitely very enlightening and one of my favorite to do things in Fort Kochi.

We went early and enjoyed the makeup session before the main show. We were appalled however at the behaviour of photographers who seemed to think it was OK to stand in everyone's way. The show itself was colourful, well narrated and informative. Don't miss this.

An interesting performance and insight into traditional dance of Kerala. Although it was fascinating to watch the makeup being applied, it was a lengthy process.

This performance and preparation with makeup etc before that was one of a kind. Absolutely amazing. The tickets are very reasonably priced. If you want to see traditional Kathakali dance performance, this is the best place to go. They have different ancient stories performed every evening

Although I'm personally not into dance/music performances, I attended one of the Kathakali shows in Kochi...and I must say it was a very interesting cultural experience. I thought the hall was very nice because it is small and personal, you can sit up front. They show you the way the make up is done, and explain to you how the face paints are made. Before the storytelling starts, you are shown the facial movements which the performers have to practice and learn - never seen anything like this before, very fascinating. If you haven't seen Kathakali before, this is definitely the place to see it.

It was really interesting to watch the make up applied before the show. The care, attention to detail and the final effect was fascinating.

I came to know there are multiple places to experience Kathakali but I feel Kerala Kathakali Centre was a worth experience.Very professional artists, well drafted program. Ensure you book it on phone atleast., the lady is very helpful and courteous .Highly recommended for any art lover. Though Indian I was not sure what to expect from the program , but we were extremely happy and thought we really missed watching kathakali before.There are two programs, Kalaripayattu *Kerala martial arts and Kathhakali. Do attend both.

It doesn't really matter when you get there as your seat has already been allocated, but if you get there early you can watch the actors transform themselves with make up.You won't necessarily understand what is going on but it is a cultural entertainment.
