When you visit Naga City don't forget to visit the Basilica of the Nuetra Senora de Penafrancia. This is one of gthe miraculous that are visited by the Catholic here in Naga City. Pray for all your intentions, wish to mother Nuestra Senora de Penafrancia.
A pilgrim's haven and home to the most revered image of the Holy Mother Mary- Our Lady of Peñafrancia. It's a church like no other in the entire Bicolandia. One doe'snt have to wait for September to come and pay Her a visit. I used to sing with the choir during high masses held in this basilica when I was in college. The place really brings back some fond memories of my youth.
...typhoon subsided. Thank you po INA. Viva La Virgen de Peñafrancia!!!!!!!!Have STRONG FAITH!! !!!
a place of worship and a place of solemnity.. forever blessed to have visited the church... and forever thankful to the family who brought me there..
The place is high ceiling. Pictures depicted in the ceiling and in the wall are more copied from church in Florence, Italy. The place is so big that can accommodate a big congregation.
The Basilica is located far from the busy commercial places in Naga although the next street, Magsaysay, is the food and restaurant capital of Naga City. Visiting the Basilica is always a good time for meditation and asking for the intercession of the Holy Mother.
a must visit if you are into churches It was penafrancia celebrations so the place was heaving with people
The church is open for a close encounter with the Lady of Penafrancia. There are also locals offering to pray for your wishes for a donation of any amount.
The Basilica is walking distance to hotels where you can stay in Naga City. The Church is not big but is easy to find in the City. It is a very important Church in the Bicol region and a must-see if you are in the area. You can go near the statue of The "Ina" by going to the back of the church and going up a flight stairs where you can touch Her and pray. The grounds of the Basilica is big and you can roam the place. It is a beautiful church with its own attraction.
the basilica is where the image of the lady of penafrancia is kept, the patron of the whole of Bicolandia, and one of the very important sites of Catholic faith in the country
When we entered the Basilica, we were enthralled by the stained glass windows. "Ina" or the Nuestra Senora de Penafrancia was perced on top of the altar. There is a stair at the back of the altar where pilgrims can go up to be able to touch "Ina" and offer their prayers. The church and its spacious grounds are beautiful and so relaxing.
Where else on earth could you find a Cathedral, Shrine and Basilica, all located in one place? If you love to visit churches, you got already 3 in just half day at NAGA CITY. It just takes a short tricycle ride to reach the 3 and the cost of transporation is cheap at php8 pesos. And the most famous would have to be the Basilica of the Our Lady of Penafrancia.Since we checked in at VILLA CACERES along Magsaysay Avenue- famous entertainment and dining strip, it is just a walk away around 50meters. The structure is modern and the place is serene. You could spend additional time to walk outdoors and it has wide parking. We were able to meet the Nuns when we came to offer prayers as it was Bisita Iglesia- Maundy Thursday as well.
I truly liked the place, the compound has plenty of religious buildings and monuments, aside of the gorgeous main church, and old and well preserved structure.
The structure is not imposing except for its size. I prefer churches that date back hundreds of years, especially of baroque architecture. This one look like it was built only 5 years ago (of course that is an exaggeration). But when one enters the basilica, the stained glass will mesmerize the visitors. Huge stained glass panels all over.I am missing the coffee shop right inside the compound. The Basilica Kaffee Haus used to be my favorite but it is now gone.A huge pergola in front looks interesting. But it is cordoned off.
This is a sanctuary where one can meditate and enjoy the beautiful stained glass windows and interior. At the back of the altar, there is a staircase that leads you to a place where you can touch the miraculous virgin and offer your prayers.
