We were staying a mile down the road from this place and we had scene it on TV as well. So we decided to check it out. We got there and the beach was packed and so were the little restaurants. We skipped that and walked to the rocks were it was. The walk was easy and when we we got there the view of the ocean was gorgeous. In the distance is that hole in the rock were Jacinto and his cow fell through. The water was rough so it was shooting up out of the whole which was great. I'd recommend visiting if you're in the area because its a nice sight and theres good food and a beach area.
The Pozo de Jacinto is located in Jobos Beach, just a short walk. Its very breezy and it has a beautiful view of the ocean. It also has a short walking path to another beach nearby.
Nice beach wit a legend. Surfer dream spot. Small beach for kid and family gather. Underwater current kill a few every year so be careful. Cave Diving galore. Drive by, stop and enjoy or just visit the area restaurant is fun under the sun
Is is a fun spot to visit, but would be much better if the beach was cleaner. The way paves crashing into the rock formation are great and jacinto's hole is fun to look at as the waves crash in. There are usually several people surfing and fishing as well. The beach itself is well protected and only has light waves, but can get crowded. There are a couple of beach bar with food and drinks as well.
I went out of my way to visit this place when I was staying in Aguadilla. When I finally found it, I was a little disappointed. I was expecting it to be some big geyser or something, but basically, there is rock around the shoreline where the waves crash and there is a hole in the rock, maybe 10-15 across, where the waves crash and water comes up a couple of feet and sprays through the hole. I got my picture and left, but I Jobos beach is decent, so if you want to make a trip out of it, bring your bathing suit and you could stay and hang out in the area.
This was 1 of the nicest place we spent time on. AMAZING views, Great food and and drinks, friendly business owner
El Pozo de Jacinto is a small cave on the rocks by the beach in Isabela, Puerto Rico. I grew up in Isabela and I remember the legend of Jacinto.According to the local legend, there was once a farmer by the name of Jacinto. It is said that Jacinto had a favorite cow which he always had tied to him while walking the rest of his herd. One day the cow walked too close to the hole and fell, dragging Jacinto along, where they both died. The legend says that whenever someone gets close and yells “Jacinto, dame la vaca!” (Jacinto, give me the cow), a big burst of water will shoot up from the hole, angry, as it to say “you are not taking my cow”. From that time on, El Pozo de Jobos (Jobos Well) became El Pozo de Jacinto (Jacinto’s Well).
I love the sea and being outdoors so this was a wonderful place for me to admire nature. It's really nice.
The beach near here is know as playa Jobos. In this beach the had a kite boarding comletition we had a great time watching and swiming. I love going to the beach and this is one i plan to return. El Pozo de Jasinto is a little far but it was interesting to see what the local ppl said about it.
