I hesitate to share because I don't ever want it to become too crowded. The only thing it lacks is limited shade to relieve you from the hot sun. There are 6-8 pavilions but they're usually taken by 11 a.m. Only toilet is one port-o-let but it's not too bad. No food or drink vendors, so be sure bring what you need. Not a great place to snorkel but is a dreamy beach.

beautiful beach only down side for me is not really much shade at all and no facilities to get food or drink

A beautiful beach! It was perfect for spending the day & relaxing! They even have gazebos, so you can ward off from the sun or just chill out of the water for a bit. :)

No crowds, white sand, paradise. The water is gin-clear and warm, the surf gentle with the occasional breakers. Snorkeling nearby. Our favorite on an island with plenty of options.

Great view, but no facility there. You`d better bring your own food and beverage. As other tropical beach with a close bush/grass field, many mosquitos after sunset.

First let me say just came back from my first trip to Puerto Rico and i fell in love with the island!! Vieques really has nothing to envy from Culebra, cause that is all everyone talks about but let me tell you Playa Caracas was amazing. Nice paved road to get in then all you see is the clear teal water with white powder sand and almost nobody there. The water was clean and calm barely any waves so it felt like being in a big pool. If you go remember to bring food and drinks cause they don't sell any there but trust me if you are in Vieques go check out Playa Caracas you wont be disappointed!!!

Long stretch of beautiful beach with almost no one ever there ! Calm waves with powder sand.....perfect for swimming and snorkling. One of the best beaches in Vieques.

Of the beaches that were available while we were there, this was my favorite there was a cabana and the snorkeling was pretty okay. Water was clear and very warm. The waves were very low making it easy to snorkel

Beautiful teal water . Clear and clean. A perfect beach. Has tables and palapas at one end . White sand soft and powdery. Depending on weather can be waves or just clam . great beach for families

Drive right up to a beach hut with a bench (forget about it on the weekends), and you have a large beach with good sand and some wave action on the corners. Popular with the locals on the weekends.

Beautiful beach, light surf. Fairly easy to get to... some of the other beaches along this way are easier accessed by a jeep. Highly recommend it families... bring an umbrella, not a lot of shade!

You really can't go wrong with any of the beaches on Vieques in our opinion. This one is very easy to get to, but it was also one of the busiest we visited on a Saturday during the summer. We decided not to stay long since it was so busy, but kept going to Playa Priata which was smaller and a little less crowded.

This beach is surreal - the sands are white and soft and there are at least 5 shades of blue in any direction you look at :)Get in early to catch a cabana, or find a tree - but you WILL need the shade, because you won't be able to spend less than a day out there :D

The water looks like liquid glass. The sand is fine and white. The beach is the most crowded you will find on Vieques. If you are a park and drag a ton of crap to the beach, this is your place. Too many people for us.

We went out to red beach thinking we would find a spot to eat a packed lunch. When we got there it was very crowded. We went to a small beach down the road and found a great place to eat and snorkel. It was on a Sunday so not sure if that is the day the locals go after church or not.
