aurora historical society & hillary house

This Victorian gem is a former doctors house owned and maintained/staffed by the Aurora Historical Society.The house has beautiful , whimsical gingerbread on the outside and looks like a real gingerbread house after a snowfall on a sunny day. The interior of the house is restored/maintained much as it was when the family lived there. They have events throughout the year. It is on the west side of Yonge Street, just south of Aurora Heights. From the road it seems the house skulks below grade. Park in the plaza just north of the house

Hilary house is now a medical museum from the 1860 era in Aurora! A well done tour by the university student on sight gave us a true insight to the era, the good life and life of a Drs family. The artifacts that are preserved on site pretty much take you right back to that time. An excellent local history lesson!
