A well kept park with good paths. Especially liked the Christmas lights. Enjoyed watching the skaters on the frozen swimming pool and Emma's Bar at the end of the walk

I've been coming here quite often the past few weeks to take pictures of the sunset and the beautiful frozen lake. It's quite nice and peaceful in the winter months, with the occasional dog walkers and elderly couples who also uses the trail. It's a shame that the trail and pier are not maintained during the winter months, but I enjoy walking along it nonetheless.

Beautiful trail. Goes right through downtown Burlington so pleanty to do off the trail. Rib fest is just off the trail on Labour day weekend.

If you've never walked along the Burlington waterfront, it's a must while in the city.The view across Lake Ontario on a sunny day or even a cold winter day is breathtaking.Once done you can sit for a coffee or enjoy the many fantastic dinning experiences Burlington has to offer, in all price ranges.

It's a beautiful trail along the waterfront, with the water on one side and the natural hills of the park on the other. It's popular with all, and the kids love the chance to feed to chipmunks right out of their hand and the birds land on your hand to eat from your palm. It's calming and a good place to go just for a relaxing stroll.

This is my favorite place in Burlington. It is perfect any time of year. In the winter to watch the ice build up on the street lights and the railings is a work of art in itself. And a stroll while viewing the festival of lights and sipping hot cocoa is wonderful. The summer offers a whole different delight with activities ice cream and incredible views. The walk is paved so you can rollerblade bike or walk whatever you choose it is perfect for all of it. There is ample parking along the way so you can choose a short stroll or a long hike. There are lots of things to discover along the way like the pier all the way to the lighthouse. If you are a virtual treasure hunter there are lots of geocaches hidden along the way as well. Admire the boats dip your feet in the water or walk on the sandy beach have a seat on one of the benches and just relax this is truly a haven and a getaway right next-door.

great walking, bike trail. The scenery is beautiful along Lake Ontario. There is some different birds to see . There are always wonderful people you meet with their dogs.

The waterfront in downtown Burlington is worth a daily visit, at the least because it is always changing. This week, because of the snow coming in from the east, the rollers were enormous, and there was a large area of ice chunks which were rolling up and down with the waves in an endless show of force which made me dizzy. Luckily, the swans, geese and ducks had decided that enough is enough, and had flown to greener pastures. I personally would prefer to see the geese vacate the place because of the mess they leave behind, and I think the people I have seen feeding them bags of corn should be fined or at least made to clean up the droppings. The Burlington Pier is an architectural marvel, wending its wavy way out into Burlington Bay, with benches and an observation deck, and artsy lighting to boot. I like heading out to the bow as I call it, and pretending I am on a cruise ship heading into the swells. The pier is a great place to be during a snow storm with the howling winds and squalls cutting across the pier almost sideways.It is very safe because it is well lit, and the guard rails are high and well maintained. Even the miniature dogs seem safe out there because they wouldn't fit between the steel lines which support the pier and the guard rails. Or you can head out there for a sunrise, or just a sunny afternoon to watch the mist over Niagara Falls way off to the south east. Last week, the swells were smashing into the break wall just off the pier, and the breakers were booming down the wall for a hundred yards or so, sounding like a twenty one gun salute. This is a spectacular place in high winds, or simply on a clear day when you can see forever.

My family and I come here as often as possible, love the walking path, the park, the kid's play area, the lake and well, enjoying a coffee or a gelato nearby.. the many organized events are a bonus as well

The Burlington Waterfront Trail is a nice east stroll along the Burlington waterfront. Often there are buskers and arts events happening. Some people swim in the small beach areas. It starts at the foot of Brant St. and Lakeshore and go west along the shore.Caution to those walking and cycling because those groups often share the same trail so walker and cyclist's be aware.There are some small cafes but they are limited in their menu and there is an ice cream booth. The playground were refurbished a few years ago so they are decent. The weekends fill up fast - as the weather permits.

A lovely short walk along the waterfront in Burlington is always a pleasure. Down by the beach end, parking is always horrific and the parking enforcement officers are always out in full force issuing tickets so I would always recommend parking in town and walking from one end to the other and back again.There are a few nice little places on Lakeshore for a coffee, ice cream or meal. Throughout the summer months, Burlington Waterfront plays host to many festivals which are always a big hit and draw in a big crowd. Sound of Music Festival always has headlining bands who are current and in the charts and there is ZERO entry fee unlike similar events in Oakville and St Catharines which are additionally mediocre at best in comparison.The Waterfront also has an amazing restaurant, "Spencers" upstairs, and downstairs a fast food café. Additionally there is a Discovery centre free of charge with a look out, and an out door shallow pool, not for people to go in I'm afraid, but in the summer it is for motorized model boats and in the winter it is a skating area, also always free.The Waterfront park is a good size but is always extremely busy in the high season. There is a splash pad too with shaded areas and sunbathing pads.The Pier is finally finished. Nice for a walk and a tower to look out from and watch the various boats go by. No moorings but during those summer months when events are on, there is an abundance of boats that pull up to the edge to watch bands.I will continue to visit Burlington Waterfront for lovely walks, bike rides and the various events that are on throughout the year

Great view. Great place to visit during Christmas holidays. We usually stop at the Second Cup on the corner of Brant and Lakeshore to grap a hot drink and then take a stroll to enjoy the Festival of Lights. Great restaurants nearby to take in the views. Friends and family are always impressed when we bring them there. Beach is great is the summer. My husband and I are looking forward to getting a kayaks to take out on the water this summer.

I lost hours of my life here, just sitting watching the waves crash up gently against the rocks. No matter how many people live in Burlington, it always felt like I was the only person sitting there, watching the day go by.Fantastic place. Really well looked after. Very much recommend this to anyone visiting Burlington. There are many nice places to eat and drink nearby, make the most of this amazing area.

It's great in the summer. We take our kids all the time and make our way to the beach area and hang out there for a while. Highly recommend it to anyone!

I am fortunate enough to live withing walking distance to the Burlington Waterfront Trail and frequently get down to it for a run. In the mornings the trail is especially nice in the morning as depending on what time you are down there you can watch the sun come up over the lake. Sometimes when I take my kids, they really enjoy going to the lift bridge near the Hamilton part of the trail as every so often we time it right that a large ship comes through which is fun to watch. The trail can get pretty busy at times, so when running on it I prefer to be on it in the early mornings, otherwise you need to do alot of weaving between people, cyclists etc. Only thing that may be nice to add at some point would be some more water fountains or restrooms. There is one main area between Spencer Smith Park and the lift bridge, however may be nice if there were some other smaller washrooms around as well.
