Sleeman Centre provides great entertainment value if you are a hockey fan- parking adjacent to the arena is good
I've been here a number of times and I'm always amazed how sedate the fans are. The parking is poor here. After the game, you either sit in the parking garage and wait to get out or walk a fair distance to your vehicle. I like the local beer options and the staff is always friendly. They have tables with just candy for the kids which is nice. The sightlines are good but the video board is antiquated.
The only team in the OHL that charges more for visiting fans from Kitchener than other arenas that I've been to and that has been all 20 arenas. To pay that amount of money to stand on a blue line with a number is totally ridiculous, if I the person at the ticket office was a little smarter she would have checked a little better not just to sell tickets and make the Sleeman Center some money.
Someone was asleep when they designed this place.I hope you dont mind standing in long line ups for everything, including wash room and snacks.
The building is really non discript, however it is the staff that make any experience well worth it. Wide aisles help crowd control.
Well most hockey rinks are much like another so the Sleeman Centre only scores an average in my book. However the convenience of 10 minutes from home, reasonable parking and hard playing youngsters not overpriced over pumped hyped corporate entertainment gets my vote to stay local.
Compared to other arenas around the area this one is just okay.A lack of concerts due to city using it as a general arena for house leagues has taken some of the usage out of it.
An excellent venue to watch a hockey game.Open concourse us great.Parking is a bit of a pain though.
Wow what a place. We were really impressed by the quality of this place and a very attentive staff. Thank you for bring James Hill Canada's number one Ukelele Master to this area. It was one of the best we have attended anywhere.an intimate venue in the Cooperators hall.
Have been to Sleeman Centre a number of times to see Guelph Storm hockey and once to see Roller Derby (you heard me right). I don't think there is a bad seat in the place. It has always been clean and any staff that I have interacted with has be friendly. The attached parking garage make it a short walk to the main entrance. Being located in downtown Guelph access to restaurants for pre/post game food or beverages is only a short walk. For those that don't drive there is public transit a short walk away. Looking forward to see some great hockey there this season. A lot cheaper than going to an NHL game and the hockey is just as good or better.
Well designed arena where you can have a great view no matter where you sit. It is never cold while watching a game and they have local beers other than Sleeman as well (Wellington and Stone Hammer).
