marine museum

This was available as a freebie with admission to the Huron County Museum and Huron County Gaol. Those two are much more interesting. This museum, located near the harbour, is small and offers little to the visitor. Take a walk across the Menesetung Bridge instead, unless it's raining.

Yes, this marine museum is small, but it only costs a dollar for admittance. It's pretty cool to tour the actual wheelhouse of an old ship (Shelter Bay) and read some local history. We'll be back another rainy day.

Nevertheless, interesting for someone who doesn't know too much about the Great Lakes marine history.

Lots of info here about the boats that plied Lake Huron and the Goderich Harbour - also the vicious storms that some of them encountered thereby leaving pieces of that ship for this little museum

Another must do in Goderich. Small marine museum but very interesting! Our kids loved it!! And it completed our day on the beach!

one amazing thing about the museum is they have the history of the Mine Salt Sifsco lots of photos, etc. !

A total waste of time! Can not believe there is an admission fee. I think it is an embarrassment for the Town of Goderich. We have such a rich marine history and there is so much possibility for a good marine museum.
