Did not catch the employees name. But he had very blond hair. I was looking for a sweat suit. This employee asked all kinds of fitness related questions. And was able to help me select the right product for what i needed. Then the same with shorts and briefs. The staff there actually take the time to help you select the correct product for the sport your interested in. I am very impressed and will be continuing to shop there. Well done!
The construction at the Cookstown Tanger Mall is now complete and the parking has improved. The mall is large and the stores are bright and attractive with a good variety. I would like to go with friends and meet for a sit down lunch with service. Mall used to have places to eat. That is part of a shopping experience. Don't want to have to leave Mall and drive elsewhere for food. They only have a Deli and Subway in the Mall. Both have no seating areas. You eat in the middle of the Mall. I went a couple of times during the week in late November and early December. Very few people there at the time so nice shopping. Weekends are different.
Finally somebody spent some time and money reviving this mall. With the expansion and addition of new stores, it makes it worth the stop. There are additional parking spaces so there is no need to circle around to find a space. We spent some time doing our Christmas shopping and were able to find sizes and colours we wanted. There is no need to go further south to other malls.
Went on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2014 and found the mall almost deserted. First impression was terrible. Inside it looks sterile, almost like hospital corridors with boring choice of colors for walls and floors, incredibly uninviting. There are groups of puffy chairs here and there, presumably leatherette type, in the most hideous light brown color. The stores are not any better. While you recognize brand name stores, when you walk in, it seems that your mind has played you a trick as the contents do not match the name of the store. Everywhere I found the merchandise different than the same store at a regular mall. Do outlet stores carry cheaper merchandise? It sure looks like it.There is a food court somewhere but no other coffee places, hairdressers, etc., which usually enliven malls somewhat. Will not return.
In general this is just another mall. If you are lucky there are deals to be had, though there are other discount malls in Southern Ontario and large box stores near Toronto that provide the same offerings at similar prices. Some of the items we found in the Tanger Outlet Mall, were substantially cheaper at Walmart and Target, by over 50%.Therefore, unless you are passing by, it may not be worth the effort to make the extra drive to seek out the few bargains. But then you may be lucky. In our case one store did have a great unadvertised promotion (not even mentioned on their or the Mall's website), that we took advantage of.As for a food court - what food court. Not to mention that there is insufficient parking.Would be nice if the Tanger website was up to date, and provided a thorough listing of the promotions that are available from all the stores. When we were there, there were promotions that were not even indicated on the Tanger website or even the stores website ??? i.e. stores offering discounts off, of their lowest price.Would we recommend this Mall: only if you are passing by.Would we return to this Mall: only if we are passing by, have the time, and there is parking readily available.
It has newly expanded. It has improved greatly. It is now a complete circle with about 80 shops. The prices seemed pretty good for high end shops. I liked that it was all on one floor and not sprawling every which way. There were also plenty of benches for breaks along the way, older people will find it an easy mall to negotiate. Even the parking seemed more organized. Worth checking out the improvements.
Compared to the last time we were here before it became a Tanger Property, the mall has really improved. Kinda small, but out of the only 50 stores open, it was easy to find deals and good variety. For example, the Nine West was quite big, and the Adidas was one of the best Adidas outlets ive been to. The mall was packed and people were clearly shopping a lot, especially compared to the last time we were here a few years back, when the mall seemed dead. Cant wait for the upcoming expansion to open in a few weeks, that resolves the issue of the mall being small and few in stores. Lot of great stores are coming, making Tanger Cookstown ready to become a full-fledged mall for everyones needs. We are guaranteed to come back again! as well, location is practically between the Gta and Cottage Country (Barrie, Muskoka Tourism Areas, various resorts, and everything North of that)
This mall has nothing special. Coach apparently has some good deals. There is no real food court. The mall is in nowhere land on the 400 close to cookstown. If you come this mall it would be good to know what item you want and know what store is because I have been here many times and see no real deals.
The parking is outrageous! The entire lot is under construction for preparation for the extention to the mall and weekends are crazy for parking. The savings that we used to enjoy at the Outlet Mall no longer exist - the few stores that I still visit are the kitchen and housewares only.Hope this helps in your decision to make the drive to Tanger Outlet Mall!
Though Small this mall had more stores that were relevant to us than the Vaughan Mills Mall which we had visited earlier in the day. There were plenty of outlet stores in common between the two. There was a line up outside of the Coach store which is the only one I missed out on. However, I was on a hunt for Cowboy Boots so I left this mall without actually purchasing anything since I could not find a pair.
We stopped at Tanger on our way home from Vaughan Mills, I was very surprised when we went to Children’s Place they had a much better selection then Vaughan it was a completely different store, also the shoe stores had a much better variety we couldn't find any for our 8yr old DD in Vaughan found many at Tanger. We stopped and got a coupon book from guest services and that saved us $$ at a few places. There is a Harvey’s/Swiss Chalet adjacent to property for a nice meal.
The mall has several clothing stores which I like (Izod, Tommy Hilfiger, etc). They often have good sales on in addition to the existing discounts. I've also bought sandals at the Crocs store for myself & family on several occasions. A few good women's clothing stores & a lot of other knick knack type places round things out. Wouldn't recommend going out of your way to visit but great location if you're already traveling on highway 400.
