We attended a dinner theatre murder mystery. Some of my party enjoyed it more than others. I saw a similar mix in the audience. If you love to get involved, you'll probably enjoy it. If you're uncomfortable speaking up in a crowd, you may find it daunting. Food was OK, but not outstanding.
The Lakeview Arts Barn was the perfect solution to a birthday on a Monday night in Bobcaygeon, Ontario. Thank you so much for hosting a lovely evening! We were without a car, and the LAB is a ways out of town (one of its charms). At a nominal fee (much cheaper and easier than a taxi) they arranged transportation for us to be picked up and brought home. The dinner was such a surprise. They have created such a beautiful and relaxed setting.. nothing quite like I've ever seen in Bobcaygeon before! The menu of the three course meal was well created and executed, with an option any one is sure to enjoy. The service was also very friendly, helpful and attentive. Pretty good prices on any extra beverages as well! (the also have a nice selection of beers)We were there for the One Night Only Comedy Improv Show, but I will definitely be back for many others! Keep up the great work :)
Thoroughly enjoyed "Long Weekend." The entire audience was laughing right from the opening lines. All the actors were so talented and this story was full of unexpected twists. Highly recommend it - Catch it this week if you can!
Food was great, service was great, Liesa Way's tribute to Dolly Parton was extremely entertaining. Aside: Liesa is an excellent singer and is a great actress. After seeing her tribute to Patsy Cline, we couldn't wait to see her tribute to Dolly Parton. There was only one tiny complaint. We were asked if we wanted coffee at the end of the meal and were disappointed that it was not very hot and then we were a little surprised to find out the coffees was not included in the price of the meal.
Went to see the most ecent play the other night...abot two couples on a cruise ship..Deilghtfully, funny...as always we enjoyed the evening...It is a home, folksy , family type place where the owners' and their family take pride in meeting with and thanking their guest for their patronage...
We are fortunate in the Bobcaygeon area to have this calibre of theatre for our enjoyment...plus they offered a meal theatre combo they we have enjyed on various occasions....give it a try ...you will not be sorry.
Live musical and comedy theatre is offered and you can have dinner before hand. Just south of Bobcaygeon, this facility offers a wonderful way to spend an evening with friends or a couples night out. The dining area and theater are in a renovated barn. Actors are brought in from Toronto and further afield and the talent level is much higher than one would expect.
I like the British influence on the pre-theatre menu. Favourites such as bangers and mash, fisherman's pie and sticky toffee pudding make appearances most summers. Although it is a prix fixe menu with just three choices for each course I have never been stuck for something to choose - there are usually a couple of options that pique my interest and I have not been disappointed yet!
We have dined here prior to the Globus Theatre performances numerous times. Service is exceptional with each and every person making you feel important (and doesn't everyone like to feel important occasionally!) From booking our tickets with the very good humoured Nancy, collecting them from the delightful Zoe and being waited on by numerous others before being greeted by friendly front of house personnel - everyone was delightful.Ah, the food - yes! As good as the service believe it or not. An eclectic prix fixe with three choices for all three courses. Never had a bad meal here. The lamb, as others have mentioned, is a highlight when on the menu as is the roast beef, the pork tenderloin and, my wife's favourite, the wonderful risottos. The wine prices are very reasonable as is the meal itself. Highly recommended.
We had a lovely day at a wedding here with a great reception afterwards. The venue is in the middle of nowhere really but this makes for a nice rural setting. The ceremony we attended was outdoors and then we were treated to the most delicious appetisers inside during cocktail hour. I can't remember what they all were because I was being social too much but they were all great especially the mini Yorkshire pudding with roast beef and horseradish. The servers were all really friendly too and managed to give the event a friendly relaxed vibe but also elegant - a good mix!Dinner was awesome. Cauliflower and Chirizo Soup, Pork Tenderloin in Peppercorn sauce and the BEST apple crisp ever with toffee sauce...seriously good. There was a lot of room for dancing which is always good. All in all highly recommended for a country wedding with style.
We attended the Kawartha/Haliburton Crimestoppers fundraiser Murder Mystery night at the Arts Barn recently. It was a very entertaining evening with a nice dinner buffet and reasonably priced drinks. Great actors that tried to get everyone involved. A good time was had by all, while raising funds for a good cause.
We are a group of gals who like to go on adventures and find new places - sometimes we find gems, sometimes not. The Lakeview Arts Barn is a gem. It's lovely - beautiful setting and then inside what a surprise! The restaurant is smart and the theatre is beautiful...and very comfortable for those of us with a large caboose! We ate before the show and can't fault the service or the menu...or the cost!Highly recommended.
Great location, beautiful setting, food was average, chicken was dry, veggies were cold. Wine would have been nicer served in glasses not plastic cups. Dessert was good and so was the soup.
Lakeview Arts Barn is an excellent venue for Globus Theatre presentations. We are fortunate to have Sarah and James here in Bobcaygeon. They are a cheerful, hard-working, talented pair who present great meals, live theatre and events and also give back to the community.
Wow! The food is amazing...but especially the lamb shank. We recently attended a dance here - great dance floor and happy staff made the evening a delight. We are going to go back again this summer to see a theatre company there. They do all sorts of shows and there is dinner before each one - I will have the lamb!
