I have had a client purchase from rbec and we are absolutely thrilled with him. I also purchased a horse for my riding school from Mandy and he is very much loved byall the students and myself . It is up to the Client to do a prepurchase Vet check and if you don't it is your decision to buy without one. Remember - this is a buyer beware business. I will not allow any of my clients to purchase from anywhere unless they have a prepurchase Vet check done and I have a negative coggins in my hand before the horse arrives at our stable. Blame yourself and your trainer for not looking after your best interest.
I am in a similar position as the other lady who reviewed. I was also told that the horse I purchased from Rainbow valley had his teeth and feet done, however his mouth had never been touched. My vet told me that she is surprised he let me put a bit in his mouth. When I approached Mandy with this information she stated "with 30 horses on the property, maybe I missed him." I was charged way too much as they claimed he had been backed but he is as green as they come. Yes I did do some test rides on him but I believe based on the polar opposite personalities from when he was at RVRC and when I brought him home, he was likely doped up. It has been 8 months and legitimately problem after problem after problem. She claims that she gets her horses from an Amish guy, however after posting my horses picture in a facebook group, he went through the Olex auction. She is shady, unprofessional, a liar, a manipulator, and just wants your money and then she's done with you. Trail rides may be a great experience as her trails are beautiful, but if you are looking to purchase, DO YOUR RESEARCH! I also could not find any reviews on her or her business until after the purchase was done. Just be careful.
We can't believe what a deal we got last May. When my daughter showed me the ad for this horse, I said it sounded too good to be true, but we'll go and have a look anyway. Amazingly, the horse was gorgeous, sound, kind and well trained, had papers and we had an easy transaction. The first couple months I was waiting for some issue to arise, but he's perfect and we got him for a song! I'm sure we could sell him for three time what we bought him for, but he's staying! I should disclose that I've had horses for the last 50 years and have a pretty good eye. If you are new to horses or unsure, take an experienced horse person along and or get the horse vet checked. There are so many horses coming and going there, I'm sure the owner doesn't know everything about them and you have to read between the lines of what is said about the horses.
Before I bought my horse from this place, I searched for reviews and found none. Now I am leaving one incase someone else needs it. I bought a horse from Rainbow Valley Riding Center. He was sold to me as a 15 year old, who was up to date on all his care. The truth of the matter was that he is a 22 year old horse who had never had his teeth done and had lost over 150lbs while in the care of RVRC (as documented by pictures from when he arrived to 2 months later when I got him. When I got him home, and found out he couldn't eat due to his teeth, I had them done immediately, and emailed Mandy at RVRC. She told me she would happily pay the bill for the equine dentist (photo of bill was sent, as well as pictures of his teeth before and after). Then she promptly started ignoring me. I was told on MORE than 1 occassion, specifically that his teeth were done. He suffered miserably, slowly starving to death while food was all around him, so they could save a few coins. I have provided multiple opportunities for Mandy to do the right thing, and she simply won't. My horse is AMAZING when it comes to personality, my advice is, if you opt to buy a horse from here, make sure to bring a vet along with you so you can be sure you are getting the truth of the matter.
