This is a beautifully restored lighthouse. Glad that someone on the Island took it upon themselves to restore.
It would be better if the tower was open. Although I fully understand why it's not. The trail to the tower is very nice too.
Nice hike trough marshy, exotic like forest area to see very historic lighthouse, very picturesque. There is a dry path all the way trough.
Easy to find! Small parking lot and then a nice little walk along the path past Lake Henry to the beach and a short walk to the Lighthouse. We saw lots of cormorants and other species of birds along the way. You can't get into the lighthouse but it's a great place to take pictures!
Walked back to the lighthouse after checking out Lake Henry for a geocache. Was a little buggy and lighthouse was a little rough around the edges, but we still enjoyed the walk and checking out the structure.
Nice little park of what we could see. There is no parking available except for 0.5 km away and wasn't sure if the car would be safe that far away from entrance. Sorry, maybe next time will venture in
Nice bit of history. Would have been better if we could see inside. Beach area is nice and clean and has the potential for swimming if you wish.
A quick 10 min walk through a marshy area (on a dry path) leads to a picturesque beach. A few more minutes and you are at the light house. Just a walk around, it is was not open to see the inside, but still well worth the walk.
The building was restauriert just the way there was not very good. not build out to find the lighttower with out problems . must go thruo water.
History! Amazing! That the Community has done it's best to preserve this special piece - just wonderful!
Rent bikes and cycle around the island, lighthouse is easy to get to and should def be seen, most popular place we visited in the island
To get here, you need to either drive or bike (better to bike) to the end of the island, park your bike, walk a few hundred meters through the forest and then you're on the beach. A short trek will lead you to the lighthouse... Between the turquoise waters and the blue sky, the sound of the waves, you feel like you are transported to another place...
This hike out to the lighthouse reminded us of being at some exotic location..isolated and natural, a beautiful beach. Just another amazing location on Pelee Island. A nice rustic (but easily manageable trail) to walk in after parking the bikes.
This needs some serious work done to create a proper trail in through the woods similar to Fish Point at the other end of the island. It was a joke trying to get out to the lighthouse along the narrow beach under/over fallen trees past poison ivy only to find at the end a neglected, overgrown area of a historically significant landmark. Whoever is in control of this area should be ashamed.
short walk on the trail and diverts to the beach to end up at the old lighthouse that was restored . not open to enter and explore but you can still enjoy the limestone craftsmenship and maybe you we see butterflys of all types along thw way like we did!
