st. jacobs schoolhouse theatre

This was an outstanding show by excellent artists in a cosy environment with good acoustics and sight lines. Like all Drayton Theater productions it was well produced, fun to watch and highly professional. The Schoolhouse Theatre staff greet everyone and make all patrons feel welcome. A great experience!

I saw the Patsy Cline Story there and it was amazing. The tables for the guests provided a cozy atmosphere which enveloped me and drew me into the program. IU heartily recommend this venue.

The Patsy Cline memorial show was very well done. Great singer and all the participants were very energetic and joyful. A wonderful experience.

We went and saw the above show. Wasn't sure what to expect but came away glad we went.Rebecca Poff does a fantastic rendition of the lengendery singer. The band complimentsher singing and recreates the true sound of the original group.You don't want to miss this performance.

Intimate venue , amazing singer, top notch musicians and incredible host. Staff were bale to find two seats at the end right befor ethe show and boy were we pleased.

Hi every one. I have found another gem. Just last week, my wife (Deb) of 30 years decided to invest some time and check out this popular venue i.e. The St. Jacob flea market, and the town of St. Jacob. The flea market was "okay" but didn't blow our socks off. We found it very congested. I could handle the many scooters but the amount of dogs on leaches and being pushed in carts added to the slow pace. The food and jams we bought were fresh and great tasting. Hats off to the Menonite community. We then made our way to the town of St. Jacob. This little town 3km north of the market is right out of a Norman Rockwell painting. Nice little shops to satisfy every pallet. What really made our trip special was a "by chance" visit to the 150 year old School House theatre. We were able to grab the last two seats (99-100) and see a great play- the Patsy Cline Story. It was well worth the price of admission and this lady's rendition of - Bill Bailey set in Carnigie hall was memorable. This venue was perfect for this story. The versatile lead actress could easily play - the Judy Garllan story as well. You have to make " the School House Theatre" a priority when visiting the community of St. Jacob. Visited the heart of the St. Jacobs Schoolhouse Theatre and enjoyed viewing the short films on the Mennonite Life and the Birth and Growth of the Village of St. Jacobs. Viewed historical sites suggested by the Mennonites within the Village of St. Jacobs that enhances "their way of life' in order to understand where they came from, how they live and why they live like they do.

we saw the Legends of Harmony. Excellent production. Great little theater with cabaret style and very small and intimate. No seat is a bad seat. Enjoyed it very much.

This small live theatre in the Village of St Jacobs can be a great ending after for a most enjoyable day touring and dining in the Village of St jacobs. The theatre cost is very inexpensive and the seating is quite informal and dress casual but, the shows are always really well done, the acting was great and so real.

My fiance and I went to see the Love List. This is a small theater so there isn't a bad seat. The set was very well done. The play was very enjoyable with terrific actors. We did think the ticket price was just a tad high. When we ordered the tickets online we saw that we would be sitting at a table. We assumed there would be a small menu of food served, and bar drinks as we have had at other playhouses where you are seated at a table. We didn't get dessert at dinner because we were planning on eating something at the theater. The only thing they offered were pop and pre-packaged ice cream.

When I came to Canada in 1974 I made myself a promise to get to know my new chosen country first hand,and so I did visited all the provinces except the territories and Nunavut.Some of the provinces I visited with my wife and some places work was involved, living in Toronto makes us a target for all visitors to come and stay.One place I always visit is St.Jacob there is the farm market cannot leave unless you taste the always freshly made apple fritters,they are just delicious .It is a place were you can witness how the farmers auction of cow's if you never seen Mennonites this is the place were they come and sell their veggies and homemade jams and you can directly interact with them.You can also take a tour to one of their farm's and see firsthand how they live.A factory outlet building is also near by and to top it off Walmart moved in as well.This is what you can do in the morning the market is a short drive outside St.Jacob,you can then proceed to the village were they have a very interesting museum in the post building which explains you the roots from the different sections of the Mennonites ,worthwhile to visit.Benjamin is a very nice restaurant to have lunch a couple of theaters are also there.If you never seen how a broom is made it right there they sell them all the way across Canada,At the Mill building is a very interesting corner which explains to you everything you need to know about Maple syrup harvesting ,if you don't have chance to do it in spring at the outdoor in many places which is of course the ultimate. There are also a lot of stores for fashionable clothes and not to forget the Angel store were you find all kind of things to honor people in all facets of live,very interesting to many people.This is also one of the places I take all my visitors from Europe,visiting St.Jacob several times every year never get tired off it,I am not to sure if its the apple fritters who are doing it to me.Ernie Kohler Toronto
