gros cap conservation area

Recently took a hike at Gros Cap and am reminded how blessed we are to have such power and beauty in our midst. This is another all season attraction with each time of year offering a different but equally stunning view. A good walk to lookout so wear appropriate footwear. This is a million dollar view...ships,surf and sunsets oh my.

Very romantic and a cosy place in top of the mountain. Not many visitors , gives a more private time. Definitely a recommended spot !

Great place to spend the day with family. You can watch the water or enjoy the nature of the area. One of our favorite things to do is to look at all of the rocks. So many treasures to see and find here

We enjoyed a hike to the top of Gros Cap last summer. Such a beautiful scenic place to just sit and watch the lake sparkle in the sun. we had fun climbing over the rocks, too

So unbelievably beautiful, nature is stunning here. Hiked the trails, picked blueberries, thimbleberries (yummy!), even a little rock climbing. The view of Lake Superior is simply breathtaking... taste of Heaven, praise you God! Can't wait to come back.

Experience nature at its fullest with trails , a view of the ships on Lake Superior . The view of the ice in the winter , snow shoe ski and snowmachine .the waves in the summer are spectacular enjoy the hiking and rocky shore lines , amazing in the fall as well with the many trees changing color . There is a picnic table to enjoy a lunch or a quick break from a hike ,sometime you will see some wild life foxes .

This is one of my favourite places to go for a bit of nature and peace and quiet . This is where the St. Mary's River meets Lake Superior . There is almost always a ship passing . I can sit on a rock and just enjoy the waves or the calmness of the water . There is a picnic table and a trash can for those who choose to make use of it . There is a rocky hill you can climb for a marvelous view of the " big lake " that is pretty awe inspiring . Boaters can launch nearby . In winter, you can hike, snowshoe, ski , or snow machine on the ice . The ice is safe even though the lake rarely freezes completely . The shoreline is rocky , the water is always cold , so we have never been brave or foolish enough to go for a dip . The view makes up for the lack of "" beach" . A place we visit often .
