awesome food, great golf course, full banquet facilities, friendly staff but a little pricey would definately go back
As a golfer from Scotland, really enjoyed the course. Great set-up, tough track with really interesting holes. I must also comment that the staff everywhere at the club were extremely helpful & chatty, making me welcome. Highly recommended for golf & food!
My experience is based on regularly doing a "Nine & Dine". The golf experience was great and the food choices had a good variety and was tasty; service was excellent and I would highly recommend it for any event.
Our son was married here in 2011. Beautiful location for a wedding. Food was excellent. My husband has golfed here a number of times and highly recommends it.We have also had dinner in the restaurant and it does not disappoint.
Golf course is beautiful and challenging and the food is great after the round. ou feel very welcome. The staff is extremely accomodtaing and make you feel very welcome.
It's a golf course ... I'm not a golfer and couldn't care less about that part. Banquet facilities are between fine and OK -decent food & service. Nothing bad to say about this place.
My husband and I got married at Royal Ashburn Golf Club in 2010. The setting is beautiful, the service and food, amazing. I would highly recommend to any couple! People are still talking about how much they loved our wedding.
Played golf at the Royal Ashburn several times, mostly best ball in tournaments.Course was always well maintained and greens in great shape.Good food and friendly staff.I would recommend the course as one of the best and possibly the toughest in Durham.
This will be an easy review. Royal Ashburn is in consistently great shape, well run, well staffed and friendly club. Excellent test of ANYBODY's game, great food in the restaurants and A-1 Pro shop staff and selection. Overall the prices for a round here are amazing when compared to the expensive wannabe's in the area. This course is simply a MUST PLAY
We used to golf there quite a bit, the course was one of our favourites but they started sending people off with not enough time in between and constantly had backups on 2 and three, Lakeridge used to have that same problem but solved it by not letting u tee off on the first hole until the ones in front of u were on the green
Great course and pretty good food.Friendly staff and a very tough golf course - probably the toughest in Durham Region - the home of many CPGA qualifying tournaments. The course is well looked after and is always a challenge. My golf tip for this course - try to play bogey golf and you will be rewarded !
This is a great course in the Durham region. The 9 and Dine deal is amazing, and the choices and taste of dinner is fantastic. If we lived closer we would golf here more frequently!
This is a favourite of many in Durham. It's close by, and offers a great golf challenge, and one that you can easily walk. Prime time green fees are higher than average, but this is not an average course. The VIP programme is a good one if you plan to golf often. The course is well maintained, and the staff are all friendly and accommodating.
In high season it can be very slow play. The course is in great shape though, considering the number of rounds and tournaments it hosts every year. The staff is very pleasant , food is quite good. Play in mid Sept for the best experience (early fall too). Though I belong to a private course I always play Royal Ashburn once/year because it is such a great course.
Royal Ashburn (formerly Thunderbird G&CC) is of the best courses you can play anywhere. If you want to obtain your pro card for the Canadian tour or become a teaching pro this is where you come to Q school. I think that says it all. Being semi-private and open to the public it is a rare treat, as club of this caliber is generally private.
