Went to the clubhouse yesterday after shopping with a friend for a drink and some lunch. Walked in and sat at the bar. No bartender. A gentleman by the name of Steve came out. We asked for a pitcher of beer and asked if we could get some lunch. He went back to the kitchen to see if any one was there (this was 3pm) and the kitchen was shut down. So no lunch. He said didn't know how to pour a pitcher of draft. He went into the fridge to get a couple of cans and we said that wasn't what we wanted. He apologized again for not knowing how to pour. We left. This isn't the 1st time this has happened that someone doesn't know how to serve. What's the point of being open if you aren't going to have staff to look after customers. Ridiculous!!!

At 5400 yards Marlwood Golf and Country Club offers all golfers enough challenges and an enjoyable experience.

- The course could use some work but not bad- Husband played there when he was 7 and the club house has not really changed at all...needs some real updates..i.e. new windows, heating, overall face lift.- You have to spend a bit of money to be a success and this location could be a huge success...i.e. neighbor's would love to be able to go there for meals or drinks after work, you could have a dance once a month, rent out to different organizations to make money, singing nights, card nights, exercise groups, line dancing- Could lease out different portions i.e. proshop, kitchen, etc.- Get the patio and pool fixed up...this whole area could be a huge sucess in the summer...I know all the neighbors I have talked to would go for that.- Please don't let the people living in the Marlwood area down we all moved here for a reason and the golf course was one of those reasons- We want to be as proud of the club house and golf course as we are of our homes, because I am sure you can all admit that all the houses in this area are well maintained and it is just a lovely place to live

If I were Baywood Homes I would be embarrassed. They build beautiful homes but there is absolutely no pride in ownership of the club house. The building needs a good overhaul. The bar is not well stocked and the food (when you can get it) is average. The men's washroom smells like a sewer pit and one of the stalls in the women's washroom has been out of service for over a year. It's tired and dirty. They close at 8pm which is ridiculous when there are people still playing golf at that time. When you speak to the manager about it he just laughs it off. I would never buy a membership to this club. Shame, shame, shame on Baywood.

Played a very enjoyable 18 holes. Need to play the course - not just hit long. I'd be happy to live nearby and play here a lot but it is also a little bit worn: greens poor, tracks rough, tees uneven. But not too pricey and friendly reception at golf shop.

Went golfing as a whole family - booked the latest spot, so there will be nobody behind us, on a suggestion of a manager. We had two kids with us, with one, who was actually golfing and another was goofing around. Rented two carts - played nine holes. Great combination of challenging runs and some easy ones. Price was very reasonable. Location was close to our cottage - two minute drive from main intersection (Walmart). Overall - great experience. Very nice service - Pro Shop manager was great - gave us a good rate, did not charge us for the little one. We were done in 2 and a half hours. f you go as a family, with little kids - make sure that nobody else is golfing close behind you.

Marlwood golf course is the sister course to Baywood. The course is a short course for the long hitter but a great test of golf.It has a very good dining room and sports bar

Enjoyed many a game at this little course. The greens and fairways were well manicured, not too busy a spot. I like 3 par courses for the short game and during the hot hot summer days, it keeps me going and shaves a few strokes off the game.

A small town golf course but it had a lot to offer surrounded by trees and in a residential setting that was quaint and familiar you could want to live around the course

I feel the place is overrated, not much challenge, lots of bird poop and hard to get a tee time you want. Too much money for what there is.

This golf course long in the tooth and appears to suffer from lack of investment. The maintenance around this place is pretty sad...very bumpy cart paths everywhere, tee boxes on several tees are not level and are even bumpy like the cart paths....hard to set up on the tee when everything is topsy turvey. The sand traps don't really have sand, just course aggregate and mud or hardpan. The greens are in fairly good shape as are the fairways. The clubhouse needs some TLC and the inventory of clothing etc is pretty sad. Nice lady at the pro shop counter and in the bar area. The starter was a pleasant chap. There are a lot of courses in the area (Collingwood over to Midland and Barrie) with superior facilities for about the same cost per round. Suggest taking the short drive out of town to find better golf.
