The mountain biking in this park is amazing. Something for every level. The trails are very well maintained. There is usually maps at the entrances and you can access from all over the island.

There are many entrances to the trail system. Easy to find is the trail head at the cemetery close to the hall. There is also a trail map at that location. Other trailheads are at the top of Slade Road, and top of Lea Smith Road and top of Strachan Valley. If you get lost, just keep heading down on trails and you will come to one of these spots. There are so many different routes to take that every hiker, and every mountain biker, can find the right fit. If you have children, an easy one hour hike from the cemetery is to do the Colt's foot - Beulah loop. If you want to see an amazing mountain bike trail walk down "Yer mother", a black diamond trail with obstacles you won't believe. The trail goes straight down from the Northwind trail. I think the name of the trail is based on, "Don't tell your mother". Indeed! There are paper copies of the trail system by the stationary map but those disappear fast. Stop by the bike shop and pick up your own map. The map sales support the development of the mountain bike trails and are well worth the small expense. I live on the island and walk the trails at least 3 times a week year round. Never boring and most abilities and time requirement can be met.

The trails to the top can be a bit confusing. Just keep heading up and you will find your way up. The hike is lovely. Mountain bikers we saw also enjoying the trails. The view is brilliant of the two islands we came from to get to Hornby.

Mt. Geoffery is a nice walk to a beautiful cliff where you can see Denman Island and Vancouver Island. It's such a nice place to go for a sunset picnic! Dog friendly, kid friendly, but there is cliffs so keep close watch.

There are so many trails on Geoffrey mountain. There are excellent maps to tell you the different levels of each trail and which ones are bike trails vs. walking trails. Beautiful views and very peaceful hiking/biking.

This hike is good exercise and takes a nice route through the forest. There are cliffs so it isn't toddler-friendly.

Mount Geoffery Escarpment Park is a provincial park and also a regional park according to the map. We could not seem to find an entrance but made our way there by luck. We drove up Mount Road near the ferry landing til the road ended then found a trail. Amazing panoramic views of Vancouver Island and the coastline below. Would like to revisit and explore the area further.

Fantastic hiking trails and trails for serious mountain bikers. We took our 10 and 12 year old kids.
