This was the second time going to this golf course and I am not sure if I will be returning. Some fairways feel like I am hitting off concrete.
This course has a reputation for being a 'stag' and 'party' course. Mostly nothing but drunk guys, speeding on their golf carts. I'd describe this course as 18 holes on a farmers field. Muddy, dirty. You can literally lose a ball on the fairway...
If i had to give it a plus it's cheap but as with anything you get what you pay for. It is not a well maintained course and is probably not worth your time to play. Newlands offers a far better experience for only slightly more. If you're looking for a budget course go to Newlands not here.
Absolutely horrible experience. Does not even deserve one star!Fairways - if you can call them that - are virtually unplayable. Dead grass, rough terrain - need a 4x4 to navigate the fairways. One fairway was literally under construction and torn to shreds. I mean who does that in the middle of summer and charges you to play?Plenty of weeds though! They are everywhere.Weeds growing in greens. Streams running through greens. Dirt patches on greens. Forget about trying to putt - seriously.By the 1st green is a graveyard for old golf carts and grass cutting equipment. Never seen anything like it. Why not just put a salvage yard right there too!Speaking of golf carts - I thought mine was going to fall apart. I was sure the steering was ready to let loose. And it was unbelievably dirty. Hadn't been cleaned in what could be years.I booked through golf18. Surprised they would sell garbage rounds like this. I will be writing them asking for a refundFrankly, not worth the time to play this dump for free. Total waste of an afternoon.Oh, and I am being kind in my review.I have now played more courses in the lower mainland that either have not been maintained or are frequented by redneck yahoos. Each time I looked for a cheap rate.Funny thing - every time I spend the money and play a good course I have a good time and play a good game. One might think I would learn my lesson.Pay the money and play the good course - it's cheaper in the end!
I played Tall Timbers golf course with a 2-for-1 discount. The course was in terrible shape, and this was after one of the "regulars" said it was actually in better shape than usual, as it is often very muddy. I played in July. I don't know that I will be playing here again.
You might have a better experiance by gettting mugged and hit with a bag of oranges. You will need a motocross kidney belt to deal with all the bumps and ruts. Also a change of clothes to deal with wet legs and bums from ripped seat's on the carts and wet foam. Then half way through your cart breaks down and you call and get a different one with ripps in a new place to get you wet. This is the only course you can lose a ball on the greens. Then the biggest problem is you book a tournament and they say one price at booking and a much higher price when you show up with your people ready to golf so they have you hostage and take more money.Total bush leauge from start to finnish, avoid this course.Alan
I really don't like giving a thumbs down to a golf course, but Tall Timbers needs a huge amount of work to be acceptable to me. Many of the fairways have serious moguls like a ski hill (a friends golf cart bottomed out on one in the middle of the fairway. Nice area, pretty surroundings, but sadly I wouldn't play there again even if it was free.
