We had a brilliant time at the ranch, were made to feel very welcome as we had a bit of a wait for the other party joining us on the trail. My partner had never ridden but would do it all again here, we were taken to the river where the horses splashed about. Our guide obviously loves her job, and the horses and we were joined by her daughter on her own horse. We had a lovely afternoon exploring countryside we would have missed in the car. Well worth it

This was my first time riding a horse and it was an interesting experience. The views were great with the mountains visible when you reach the river clearing after the trails. The horses were well behaved and my horse Archie was energetic and excited to run when we reached the open trails, although they didn't go too fast which was good. The tour guide Kat was helpful and super nice, would recommend.

Went for my first horse tour a few days ago and it was fantastic! The horses are very well behaved and the scenery is just unbelievable. Our tour guide, Kat, was very friendly and taught us a lot about horses and nature. She even took us to a river where the horses were splashing all of us it was a lot of fun. Took my two sons Daniel and Joshua with me, and they clearly had the time of their lives!I highly recommend this tour to everybody. Beautiful horses + friendly staff + incredible scenery = AWESOME EXPERIENCE AND TONS OF FUN!

we always try to find a tour that shows us the natural beauty and culture of a place we are visiting. Taking the Adventure Ranch horse tour was just that and much more. Our two hour ride through the forest and along the river at the base of one of the most majestic mountains you've ever seen was awe inspiring. Our guide was knowledgeable about the area and friendly. The horses were amazing, they are calm and easy to ride. Without much experience on a horse I was a little nervous, but the guide was very reassuring and all of the horses seemed to enjoy their day as much as we did. I will return for this experience next time we visit this area. Pemberton is beautiful. Thank you Adventure Ranch for the best day of our trip.

Adventure Ranch was recommended to us by the Whistler.com travel consultants. The ride was supposed to be "family friendly" and good for the novice riders in our group. Before we even had left the ranch, the most experienced rider in our group was violently thrown from the horse named Kokanee (sp). As a result of being thrown by Kokanee she broke 2 bones in her back, faces a very long and painful recovery, is unable to work and the rest of us had the trauma of having seen this occur. Do not ride Kokanee! This horse has hurt other riders (see reviews) and is dangerous! Kokanee and another horse (I believe it was named Smokey), were the ones who had issues with each other.

Unfortunately I can not recommend this to anyone. I am an experienced rider and was looking forward to a fun trail ride. Minutes after mounting my horse, Kokenee, and entering the paddock he started acting skittish and seemed to have an issue with another horse. Shortly thereafter, and thankfully before we left on the ride, he bolted, bucked me off and fell down himself. I suffered two broken vertebrae, a whiplash and tons of bruises. Our vacation was shortened as I had to be taken by ambulance down to Vancouver, and now I am in pain, looking at a long recovery and not able to work.

My 2 daughters and myself really enjoyed this trail ride. One daughter has experience with horses, but my other daughter and myself are novice. The guides were great with making us feel comfortable and the horses were very well behaved. They know those trails well! At the end of the ride we came upon a momma bear and her 3 cubs on the trail. Both Chloe and Annie handled the situation wonderfully. Everyone remained calmed, they turned us around and headed back a different route. A great adventure that we will never forget!

This was my worst experience on a trail ride ever. I am not an experienced horse back rider but I have done a few trail rides. I was clear with the guides that I was a novice rider as were my daughters. I was assured that we would be fine and that all of the horses were gentle. I was put on a horse which was skittish from the beginning. Part of the ride puts you riding on the shoulder of a somewhat busy road. My horse was spooked by a loud truck which passed by which in turn spooked a couple of the other horses. We were then required to cross that road at a point where the road curved slightly. We rode to a river where we let the horses take a drink and rest for a few minutes. During this time my daughter's horse kicked my horse hard nearly throwing her off. My horse responded by bucking me off and kicking me at least twice as it tried to run off. I landed hard on my back sustaining bruised ribs along with several other painful bruises especially where the horse kicked me. The guide seemed thoroughly unprepared for this situation and in my opinion, extremely cavalier about what had just happened. The entire experience was just terrible and frightening not only for me but for my kids.

Our guide from the Canadian wilderness adventure recommended this to us for horse backing. It is an easy 30 min drive from whistler . Cat and Renee took us on a 2 hour trail ride through the forest. It w as gorgeous and the horses are beautiful and very gentle especially for a first time rider like me who was scared. The forest is beautiful. We saw a deer. It rained a lot and you did jot even notice because the scenery is too pretty.

Adventure ranch is situated beautifully between green river and the mountains. Picturesque and quiet. The valley trail horse ride is exactly that, through a trail of trees that ends at the river(highlight) and then back the same way. It is very slow and good for first time horse riders and small children. My kids liked it when they trotted a little in the open field, but not long enough. The mountain backdrop is gorgeous scenery, but not much else. Very flat on narrow trail. No real change in scenery or elevation. We had a beautiful sunny day, but extremely dusty and we were covered with dust. The ride is about an hour and 15 minutes. The guide was great and the horses were very calm, but again not for anyone who has done a trail ride before. The ranch is for sale and the owners are scaling back so not as much to offer. The office is nice and clean with very friendly staff! Think about what you want from a horse riding experience before you decide to make the payment.

Adventure ranch is set in a beautiful backdrop nestled among the mountains with lots of trees on the property to provide shade when you want. A clean and warm pool is ready for you after a day on the trails. An amazing sound system is set up near the pool with all of the covered picnic area allowing for guests to play their music and really make the ranch their own. A truly comfortable camping experience with lots of perks.

Obviously, everyone has different expectations and so while it was a 'waste of money' for RH, it was well worth it for us because I asked exactly what the 'ride' consisted of and they delivered exactly what they said they would. Friendly, knowledgeable guides, whom made me (NOT a horse person and timid on a horse at best) feel welcome and I even kind of bonded with my horse. Yes, there is not galloping across the fields - but we were told that upfront. During the ride the guide also gave us a nature talk about local indigenous plants, history of the area and wildlife/birds. I agree, the spot by the river is gorgeous and Mt. Currie looming above is stunning - ask for the First Nations legend about Mt. Currie! The ranch is top notch: indoor bathrooms, rustic but professional office, Beautiful Ranch grounds, cool old barn, great horses, very friendly and helpful guides, great service. Gorgeous scenery - west coast forests alongside a river. This is a perfect day outing, especially for first-timers, children, and nature lovers. If you're looking for an adrenalin rush - nope, not the place for you! If you're looking to be awe-struck by the environment and beautiful horses - you won't be disappointed.

This is a big waste of money. It is a boring, long ride in a forest where you can't see anything and back again through the same boring forest. You reach a river at the mid-point which is nice but this is the only nice part. The ride is slow, boring and not worth the money.

WOW, this was our first ever attempt to ride a horse... and we admit we were scared to death, but decided to go "WILD" in our visit to Whistler. The first 10 minutes or so are scary but after you get the basics, you can (pretend) to relax and even start enjoying it. The tour is absolutely great and long enough and we even felt it was under-priced for the length. The tour guide was very experienced rider and knew her stuff, and was able to keep all first-timers calm, even when some of the horses acted weird occasionally. There was a bear mom and two calves in the area few days earlier, and it seems like the horses are very suspicious and cautious in their nature. If it is a hot day, make sure to pick the early departure, and be generous with the bugs repellent, as the area is full of NINJA insects that can get through the thickest fabrics... We were riding on a trail leading to a river, where the horses drank some fresh water, and the guide took photos of everyone, making sure you have quite a few good shots, from every angle and possible distance, with your own camera. This was a great, positive introductory experience to horseback riding, and we definitely going to try it again.

We did this tour 2x, it was excellent. Both Belinda & Tamatha are great with beginners and nervous kids. Our 2nd time we encountered a bear and Belinda handled her perfectly.
