For our Miami Bridges Walk during this stay in Harrison (late-September), we entered the trail at the entrance/end nearest Harrison Lake, and came out at the Resort's parking lot entrance/end. We've been doing this walk for a good number of years and it's always a quiet and refreshing break - the lush forest, the trail and bridges easy for our well-aged, senior legs, and a wonderful opportunity for one to 'see & feel' a little nature!!There are several small bridges to cross along the trail, each offering a small vantage point to stop and check out the sights and sounds. The Miami River was very low (Harrison Lake was at the lowest level we had ever seen), and the forest very dry at this time (the result of our long spell of warm and dry summer), so definitely not as lush green as previous walkabouts we've made, but still offering fine sensory experiences walking amongst the trees and other vegetation.I captured pictures of most (if not all) of the bridges, plus a few sights of Miami River from some of them, on one of our trail walks this trip. The air was fresh & clean, and the walk most enjoyable.
The hike was beautiful. Because we like an adventure we didn't mine the lack of signage but noticed a few people only walked the short distance on road not attempting the trail. Confusion on trail.
We walked this easy bridge trail with the kids and spent time looking for geocaches and small animals :)
It's a nice 20 minute walk around and down to the original well (owned by the Resort) where the spring originally comes out at/from. Not strenuous at all, we took some lovely photos. I found the only downside was that you could hear the kids screaming/playing at the bouncy waterpark out on the lake.
Its close, scenic, and very easy. Just right for everyone. Mossy trees, pretty river, and just a few stairs to mix it up.
Lots of bridges, beautiful mossy scenery, not a tough trail. Did it with my usual wear, soft leather flats and purse. Was an easy walk, quiet and clean trail.
The Miami Bridge walk is fabulous. The vegetation is huge and there is moss everywhere - on the trees ad lamp standards. It is a really great place to walk the dog.
My old stomping grounds as a kid and it is always fun to bring out of town guests here to relive the magic of the first time experience. Our two sisters were astounded by the green moss, ferns and trees. "Wow - just look at that, moss is everywhere and everything is soooo green!" It is nice to walk the boardwalk along the lake, but guests should go the extra little bit and include this little hike as well - you won't regret it!
lots of small waterfalls through stands of huge trees and monster boulders...very natural and scenicWatch your step on the small bridges as they get pretty slippery...If you like this walk you will also like their Spirit Trail walk which is a 5 minute drive away...
This was a nice walk on a fall day. Quiet and secluded, although you are right next to a hotel, you never notice it.
The walk is behind the Harrison hot springs resort in a cedar forest. Beautiful, easy walk. Wish it were longer. It does connect to the lakeside walk.
Absolutely breathtaking! The forest looks mystical, it’s magical looking, the size of the tree's the moss, the density of the forest, all of it was energizing! Lots of people enjoying the beauty of surroundings, it was beautiful.
This short walk starts behind the Harrison Hot Springs Resort and Spa and follows the river to where it empties into Harrison Lake. Its named Miami Bridges as it crosses the Miami River and has a series of boardwalks and bridges along the way. You follow the side of the mountain with old cedars, ferns and moss. Wonderful rain forest. Easily accessible and well maintained it less than 1 kilometer and so is doable by most. Great walk for family with small children.
