tunnel beach

从圣克莱尔海滩出来，我们直奔tunnel beach,我们觉得这个地方挺有意思，大家可以花点时间来玩一下，路有点陡，走下去有个用手挖出的石头隧道，可以通往一个迷你沙滩。我准备爬上最高点，MOS担心的看着，不时提醒着从石头隧道里出来就能看到这个小小的沙滩沙滩边上有个小的山洞多年风化后自然形成的样子上来的时候，一看到车窗竟然忘记关了，当场吓住了，因为电脑，IPAD，所有的皮夹子钱全部在车里。马上开了车门查看，幸好，一样也没少，这时感觉国外的人素质还是非常高的。换作是国内的话，别说你是开着窗，即使你关着也都给你撬开了。

This is a beautiful place to take the whole family. A bit hard to walk down and back up but definitely worth it. Often seals on the roacks.

a bit of a walk down but amazing when you get down to see the view, the holes in the huge rocks, the sea. Look to your left and go down the man made tunnel steps to come out on the beautiful secluded beach well worth the effort of walking back up the steep incline believe me. Dont forget your stuff as too much effort to pop back to the car. The road to the beach is not well signposted so keep your eyes open for it and not very much parking at the bottom.

Wow, beautiful beach and scenery. Long walk down to beach and very difficult one the way back up. Not recommended if you have mobility or health issues but if you're relativley fit and healthy well worth the walk down.

beautiful unusual place with a hidden staircase leading down to a secret beach.A fairly easy walk down and not too far to walk back up I did it with a broken shoulder at age 60 so I guess most people can make it.take a flask of tea and a sandwich and a book and chill out in the midst of somewhere special

Quite a bit of walk, especially the uphill walk on the return journey. But it's worth the walk to get close to the beach and enjoy the view of the rocks and the ocean.

This for me was the highlight of my visit to Dunedin. A reasonable level of fitness is required for the walk up and down but it is well worth it and we got some amazing photos too. To go down on the beach you need to go at low tide. A beautiful spot

I have been to tunnel beach three times, make sure the tide is out and go early in the morning. It's a really beautiful spot with amazing rock formations and natural beauty. Take a wee picnic to enjoy on the beach, make sure you take a camera to capture the 'wow factor'.

The only way down to the beach is a steep decline but it is well worth it. The Cargill family in 1872 carved 72 steps through solid rock so their daughter could reach the beach. Besides that the views are fantastic.

Easier at low tide, but beautiful anytime. Take a picnic and enjoy! Very easy walk to get there. Tunnel is cool. Beach is phenomenal site.

Excellent walk up and down steep pathways but worth the end result of a beautiful secluded cove. A must do.

Be prepared for a short walk down and a longer walk back but it's worth it when you get down to the little seat with the view of the sea on the cliff top... then you see the tunnel...

I can't believe how hard it was, not only to find the place, but even to find any information about it. I only knew it existed because I'd seen something about top beaches on trip advisor and added it to my 'must do' list of holiday activities. It seems such a shame that there was no information about it in local information centres, and no history about the tunnel at the site when you arrive. That aside, we found it and really enjoyed the walk down to the beach. It wasn't what we expected as we'd hoped to have a swim and relax there but the beach itself is quite small, the waves really big and the water extremely cold. However, we had lots of fun paddling and taking photos. Just before the actual tunnel there's some amazing rocks to walk out over and see the most fantastic views. The walk back up is not for the faint hearted - it's really steep and the gravel can be quite slippery in places. I wondered a few times if I would make it back! I'd recommend this place if you're reasonably fit and like to walk to explore. There's really nothing at the end but big, cold waves and amazing views.

It´s a hard to find place. But it´s worth to be found. The access is not so easy, very steep, .The beach is a lonely one therefore.I´m glad that I ´ve seen it.And you should know the story about. But there hasn´t been an information.A father built the tunnel because he wouldn´t like that others see his daughter going to the beach.
