This place is located on the water, reachable only by boat. It offers a good explanation of an interesting pearl farming process in French and a pretty good one in English (there were two Brazilians on our trip---sorry!). The women are Polynesian-lovely as they explain about making the black Tahitian pearls and they will give you a free sample of a really nice oyster shell. Of course there are also pearls for sale. Don't know if the prices at the top end are fair, but you can get some pretty good seconds at a reasonable price if you know a little about what you are doing.

The Huahine Pearl Farm was a great place to see & learn how the famous black pearls of Tahiti are farmed. The working hut is pretty small, so small groups are the order of the day, but the demonstration & explaination was excellent. Also, while you are waiting for your group's turn, there are nice local island snacks to enjoy, and the scenery is amazing.

Park your bike or car in the lot wait for the lagoon taxi (boat) and hop aboard. Pearl cultivating is well explained and interesting enough to keep your attention. The jewelry is beautiful but truly a bit on the pricey side. The pottery is one of a kind and actually would be a better purchase choice since it is (I believe) one of the only places you will find it.

We were dropped off at the Pearl Farm after a 2 minute ride in the little canoe across the rich blue water- so fun! Stunning green mountain peaks shown in the background. We were greeted with a single tiare flower by a lovely young Tahitian woman who also showed us how the pearls were "made". There were beautiful displays of jewlery and also individual pearls. Bought a pair of ear rings! I could not resist buying a small vase that was made right there across the water by the local potter. Very attractive work including Polynesian designs and a blue glaze the color of the deep water there. I felt that I had a very "local" experience and would recommend this to any one who wants to have an authentic Huahine experience.

The free boat trip through the lagoon was the start of an extraordinary afternoon. The boutique is in an amazing location where guests can view some fine black pearls and beautiful Tahitian pottery. The staff was polite, spoke English and displayed a variety of pearls taken from the nearby lagoon. We enjoyed the coral and large fish right below the showroom.

Lovely little floating house in the middle of the lagoon. Really cool to see the pearls getting made and fun to shop of course.

It was such a wonderful and intriguing place to visit. I learned a lot and I ended up buying a handful of gorgeous pearls that I later had a jeweler make into a beautiful necklace. Worth a visit!

They do a free boat ride out (although a sign on the boat asks for donations?). We had a 3 minute talk on how they make pearls and then a 30 minute wait for the boat to go back while you have the 'opportunity' to look at the shop.
