Although it was drizzling with rain, we enjoyed a walk along the jetty, a lot of other people were about enjoying the view and the atmosphere.

This was a last minute decision to go here instead of t he more popular Glenelg or Henley beach. Probably less crowded, but still was hard to find parking late at night. The main street was closed off to allow for pedestrians, there was also a nice amusement park setup near the jetty. (rides, games, food). Jetty was also closed off as this was where the fireworks ere set up. you will have to go to the beach and sit on top of the hill, you should be able to find a decent spot as we did even close to midnight. fireworks lasted approx. 8-10mins then crowd quickly disperse.few of the establishemnets will be open, but most pubs or bars would need reservation to enter.

A lovely area to visit. If you are down at the beach it can be very crowded under the jetty as everyone is trying to avoid the sun. The water is crystal clear with fairly good fishing and crabbing at the end of the jetty.

A lovely beach with great facilities nearby. Awesome playground for the kids. Train rides. The carousel is a must-ride. Best fish and chips in SA are just a short walk up Semaphore Rd to Soto's fish and chips.

Great place to visit, beautiful long sandy beaches, fish and chips, a real seaside trip! Be careful if it's windy as it can feel cool but the sun is still very hot and you can burn easily, especially if walking after being in the sea. There are showers along the front though.

We have had many beautiful experiences near the Semaphore jetty.....eating fish and chips on the sand under the jetty; walking the long and recently renovated jetty; fishing from or just enjoying the location. Summer holidays bring the many sideshows and the fireworks on NY Eve that surround the jetty. A must visit if coming to Adelaide: visit Semaphore Jetty.

The jetty is an old wooden structure like a number along the Adelaide seafront. A great place to have a stroll, particularly on a breezy day. The structure is well maintained, so no fear of falling through. Also a popular spot for local fisher-folk.

If your traveling to Adelaide, a great location for the family with kids is to Semaphore with a stop at the Jetty. A brand new secure kids play area has just been built (Oct 2014), there is the miniture train that the family can ride down the coast for a few dollars, the Jetty goes out over the ocean so if your into fishing you can join everyone else and get some fish or crabs. At sunset on a warm evening you can go wrong. The whole vibe at Semaphore is very relaxed, if anyone has traveled to the bustle of Sydney or Gold coast and felt the posing of the "peacocks and roosters" a bit too confronting, then Semaphore is a peaceful option. In the many years I've lived here, it is always an enjoyable stroll out on the Jetty and getting a look at the beautiful ocean.

This is a great jetty for a walk or fishing. It's been restored over the last few years. Come down when the kite festival is on and check out the amazing kites from the jetty.

If you like beach side walking then go here. Nice place to relax, walk and eat. Lots of places to choose from and the beach has a grassy park right near the pier.

Jetty's are an Adelaide icon. There are a number of them along the Adelaide beaches. The Semaphore Jetty is a typical one where you can walk out on the wide jetty to fish, enjoy the fresh air, watch people or enjoy seeing the sun set on the Gulf St Vincent. The beach at Semaphore is not a great beach - it is very shallow and there is little waves - there are definitely better beaches around Adelaide. But it is a great place for young kids. There is much to do around the Semaphore Jetty area with great parks, a funpark with carousel and waterslides and a miniature steam train that runs along the coast for 1-2km. Overall, good place to take a young family to spend the arvo.

The Semaphore jetty is a highlight of Semaphore beach, and a local landmark. It's ideal for a stroll, to take in the sea air, watch the sun set, admire the scenery, or just see the passing parade. You can fish from the jetty if that's what you like to do.Buy an ice cream from one of the local vendors in the Main Street, and enjoy it while you take your stroll.
