The church was open, the best part so we got to look inside also. Historically it is very significant and its location superb being just near the bridge.
Good example of an early settlement church. Of course being Catholic it's on a hill, with a nice peep of the historic bridge from the doorway.
The Church inside was lovely with old stain glass windows and statues. It is worth a visit to enjoy the large painting on the altar.
Lovely old church on top of the hill with the Richmond cemetry in the grounds. Part of the great view of the Richmond Bridge - this is the church you see in the background
This little Church is gorgeous, you can spend some time here walking and reading some of the old grave stones, a pity that most are becoming very hard to read, falling over. The access road from the Bridge car park has now only one way traffic, probably putting people off visiting especially on a wet and cold day, not sure of the name of the street, but if you take the street to the left after the bridge car park or right before the bridge coming into Richmond you can drive right up to the Church and park in the Church grounds. There is a school opposite and residential home, hence the reason for the traffic change.
Its Victorian design and workmanship has to be seen to be believed. It is a great place to come and see, quiet, tranquil & beuatiful
Lovely ambience once you walk into the little church. Lovely light throughout and interesting to have a wonder in the grounds, although we did not feel comfortable visiting the graveyard.
Amazing so many lovely churches around Tasmania & this is just another one to visit. Worth a visit while in Richmond.
Nice old church. Looks impressive. Interesting comments on some of the older tombstones. Some more history of this would be good. Inside looks like any other church.
The church stands atop a hill and the outlook from the church is good. Inside the church is a classic example of the period architecture and there are plenty of photo opportunities in and around the church.
An amazing old church worth visiting, lovely location and great views. If you enjoy old churches and all that they entail, this is definitely worth stopping to see.
Such a lovely church with stunning stained glass. Quiet and cool inside. The old graveyard is worth a look although many of the headstones have now slipped down into the river there are still lots to look at.
We recently held a memorial service for a relative at this historic church and graveyard. The priest who had known him all of his life gave a lovely personal service. The church is steeped in the early history of Richmond and Tasmania and the site provides a great view over the town.
