Visited the garden whilst at the adjoining Woolmers Estate, not being a greenthumb myself it was still interesting enough to have a wander around for a while. It was a little late in the season to enjoy a full bloom but enough were present to imagine it.It looks exactly like an English Rose garden with the Rotunda at the highest point overlooking the Woolmers homestead. Many many varieties of different shades and colours make this a "must see" considering its history.

We stayed at Woolmers and so the Rose garden was included. We were at the end of the rose season but it was still very lovely, and in the context of the entire property it was a special experience, we will go back when the roses are in high season

As an adjoining garden to Woolmers this rose garden is heavenly. We visited in November and June. Both beautiful times to be enhanced.

I had not visited this garden for some years, and on a recent visit I was amazed at how much it has grown and how truly beautiful it is. The setting is stunning – it is on a slight slope down towards the historic Woolmers Homestead, with the rolling green paddocks and hawthorn hedges of the Longford plains, and with the Western tiers as a backdrop. The garden is very large – a vast array of wonderful heritage roses, with box hedges, some interesting modern sculpture and a lovely pavilion. There is an interesting herb and vegetable garden to view as well. When the roses are in bloom is it quite stunning. This peaceful and really beautiful garden is only about half an hour from Launceston. It can be combined with a visit to Woolmers Homestead, but it is not essential to do this if you only want to visit the garden. The website is very comprehensive.

This is the most beautiful part of woolmers Estate. The gardens were in winter mode when we stayed but they were still lovely to see. Volunteers were happy to give us the history of the garden and chat about the variety of roses planted.

This is very likely the best rose garden in Australia. Well planned, plenty of variety, an idyllic location on an historic property in Tasmania's cool climate. There's also a herb and vegetable garden in use by the kitchen and accessible to public. The surrounding scenery is impressive, on a river, bordered by historic buildings.

So many roses I have never seen such a fabulous garden with so many of the same type of flower. The garden is laid out like an 18oo,s garden and that adds to the charme, make sure you lookingTo the vegetable garden as it has a lovely bird water feature

The roses were just past their prime but there were many still blooming, moment with exquisite scents! Obviously old world roses and very lovely colours. We needed more time to really appreciate the whole garden. Don't try and do both Woolmers and Brickendon in the same day, it's too much to take in!

the old historic house and so many gorgeous roses and perrennials. Lovely climbing roses on arches, too

There were very few flowers in bloom on our visit, though it is late in the season, and we visited during a heat wave. However, overall, we enjoyed our visit to Woolmers.

We had seen them in the nineties and had long wanted to spend time there, and weren't disappointed but did feel the gardens were lacking care in some areas. As a gardener I don't like to see weeds and un-trimmed hedges in my own garden let alone one that is on display

If you like roses then you have to go here. The site is huge and roses and grouped into their varieties. There are so many! The fragrance is amazing as well, The Historical Woolmers Estate next door adds to the charm. It would be lovely to get a high vantage point over the gardens otherwise trying to get a photo that does it justice is very hard.

I loved the colours here. I visited when it was the perfect time for roses. Looked amazing.

Attached to the Woolmer Estate, the Rose Garden has an amazing collection of roses in a well-laid out garden with walkways and seating to allow a pause to admire the view. Only criticism was a lack of upkeep when we were there in mid-summer; most of the bushes were in need of a dead-heading, but it's such a big job I'm sure it's like painting the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

This is a large rose garden with many different species of roses all around. Spectacular and colourful view... red, pink, white, yellow, orange roses...The smell of the flowers was wonderful as well.Worth a visit.
