The lady at the cellar went through the tastings from start to finish and gave great details on the history of the winery too. Beautiful setting for a picnic (if we had more time). good prices too.

We stopped in for the sparkling wine and cheese platter. MMMMdelicious and great value. The setting is just gorgeous amongst the vines, with geese on the pond. The outdoor seating area is so relaxing.

This was the third on our wine tasting day, thus we were worried that our palates may have become a little jaded. The tasting of well produced sparkling accompanies by knowledgeable explanations both refreshed and revived us. The 2006 late disgorged was the outstanding wine of the day. Unfortunately it's only available in limited quantities. GET SOME.

The young girl at the cellar door was exceptional. Very knowledgeable. We didn't try the whole range but enjoyed a quick tasting of 2 or 3. I had no idea Jansz had such a big selection.

Visiting the Jantz open cellar-door was a wonderful experience. The history of the winery and the production of wine from this area has connections to French wineries and champagne production dating back to the last century. I found the visit very interesting and a lovely stopover on the way to the Eastern coast of Tasmania from the Tamar Valley. Visiting the winery in early December I was offered all varieties of wines for tasting. The winery has beautiful grounds with geese, ponds, vineyards, and wonderful cellar door area which comprises an expansive open plan indoor room area with lovely art work a really pleasing experience and beautiful outdoor garden areas which are well set out with weathered timber seating. Cellar-door offers wine for sale as well as souvenirs from Jantz winery. Also on offer are substantial cheese platters which include a couple of glasses of Janz product for $30. One of the best Cellar-doors is in Tasmania I would suggest not missing a stop over at this winery and its neighbour Pipers Brook.

You are probably better off visiting a Dan Murphy's for tasting, the guy serving needed to recharge his batteries.Cafe looked nice!

Being huge fans of Jansz Premium, we were rather excited about trying the full range for the first time. The building is beautiful and set in a lovely location. Exposed beams and large windows really make this place. The service is very welcoming but unfortunately there were only 3 sparkling wines to try-Jansz Premium Cuve'e-Jansz Premium Rose'-Jansz Vintage Cuve'eAll of which I have tasted and drink often. The three not available for tasting are -Jansz Vintage Rose'-Jansz Late Disgorged Vintage Cuve'e-Jansz Single Vineyard Vintage ChardonnayIt was explained to us that in the low seasons they don't open these. Really disappointing as it is more than likely we would have bought some if we had a chance to try it.. So we didn't spend any money here. For those regular buyers of Jansz. Cellar door pricing on the Jansz Premium is $22.95. Only lightly cheaper then most bottle shops.

The wine centre at Jasnz provides an excellent overview to the methods and traditions used by this company. The staff behind the bar are also very knowledgeable on the history and traditions of the Jasnz brand. All of this topped off by great champagne tasting options and explanations on why the varieties tasted and looked different. My wife (the champagne expert) and I had only just eaten, but the $30 cheese board with two glasses of champagne looked excellent value. My advise, don't be in a rush when coming here, so that you can appreciate the building, history, views and information. Then finish off the visit with a very reasonably priced glass of bubbles. As a non wine drinker, I found this place to very interesting.P.S. I know that they can't call it "champagne" however the history and methods employed by this vineyard should allow their product the title of champagne.

What beautiful sparkling wine they produce. We can highly recommend going to try their vintage selection. The flavours were complex and the staff attentive. The prices were not too outrageous and there was no charge for tasting. The cellar door had been done up relatively recently, with special attention paid so that the original timber beams could be kept (they were entire tree trunks). Worth a quick stop if you're in the area.

We visited this winery recently and were warmly welcomed by the ever so helpful Maxine. She couldn't be more informed of the wines. We loved learning about Jansz and what the region had to offer. Her nature made the experience a memorable one and a true highlight of our trip to tassie. Thank-you Maxine.

Even though I live on the other side of the globe, I've visited this Cellar Door twice, now, and if I find myself back in the area (which I hope is the case), I'll go back again. I'm a huge fan of the bubbly, but that also means I drink quite a bit of it and understand the process while recognizing quality. This is quality stuff at significantly lower prices than the French cousins (of similar quality). Winemaker Natalie is passionate about her craft, knows her stuff, all while being charming and down-to-earth--real treat if you get to meet her. Meanwhile, we found the Cellar Door staff accommodating and friendly.

If you are a lover of Jansz fizz then take the time to drop in for a tasting. Louise (i think) was on when we dropped in and was happy to share her knowledge of the local wine and area. It's a lovely setting to but no food available.

I learned so much about sparkling wine and loved the tasting room at Jansz. Friendly staff, great wine and definitely worth a visit...

We went to Jansz after visiting neighbouring Pipers Brook and having a very average experience there. Jansz was busy with small groups but the two employees taking care of the tasting were both animated and enjoying sharing their knowledge with the customers. Everyone was well looked after as they were attentive to those enjoying a glass as well as those tasting. It certainly makes a difference when the employees are seemingly enjoying what they are doing! The wines were very enjoyable and given the experience we walked away buying from them - something we didn't feel inclined to do at the previous establishment.

Host was friendly and informative, bubbles nice. Jansz is always good- worth a stop. The cellar door itself is quite interesting.
