billabong blue sapphire fossicking park

We went to this place after reading excellent reviews on fossicking websites and were not disappointed. The staff were very helpful and genuinely want you to find all the gems. Attached are our finds from the day.Theres a small shop on site supplying only snack food and drinks so i suggest taking lunch(the owner likes cake). All gear is supplied. We recommend a bucket of wash to take home.We will be back....

Great place to fossick for Sapphires if you haven't attempted it before. Equipment is supplied or you can bring your own to help clear the never ending mound of Sapphire Wash.Staff are friendly and will give you a quick lesson on how to fossick.The park also has camping facilities (but I did not camp).If you are visiting for the day do bring food and plenty of water AND a fly/mosquito head net. Plan to spend the day, as you will anyway. Once you start you will want to find the big one......
