We stopped twice at the Centre. The first time, we asked for advice on spotting tree kangaroos, and were pointed in the direction of the walkway on the opposite site of the road. We were happily watching the turtles in the river when Drew, the local guide came over to tell us that he'd spotted a tree kangaroo ... our first ever! The roo was right in the top of a tall tree, but my friend managed to get a good photo nonetheless. Through binoculars, we had a great view of this beautiful animal, with its amazing tail. The next day we called in again, early in the morning, hoping the kangaroo might be on a lower branch. Drew hadn't even finished his coffee, but still took us out on what was really a private tour. No luck with the tree kangaroo (if Drew couldn't see it, no-one could, that's for sure) but we did spot elusive pademelon (little wallabies), which was a real treat. Thanks so much, Drew - your time and company were greatly appreciated. The other staff in the centre were also extremely friendly and informative. It also has some information displays, and very nice souvenirs to buy too. All in all, a very good experience.

After visiting Yungabuura and Atherton info centres, Malanda info centre gave us most info on visiting the craters around the region. They have some cool visually captivating volcano eruptions for kids and lots of pamphlets. However, whats lacking is a natural history circuit info. we had to talk to the volunteers there about each of the attractions separately and make our own circuit.

Great welcoming staff who went out of their way to help and guide us .The visitor centre itself was veyr high tech and catered to all age groups - toddlers, children , teens and adults . The displays were state of art and very illuminating explaining the history and origins. A definite must visit if you are in the area!

we arrived outside opening hours for the Centre. Nevertheless the swimming place below the falls would be a great place to cool down on a hot day. We took a very pleasant circular walk - seeking the elusive tree kangaroo or perhaps a platypus or turtle. We saw none, but enjoyed the walk. Clean toilet facilities were available.

A recent trip to the Tablelands of tropical north Queensland yielded a new discovery. After visiting the Malanda Falls visitor center which was very well appointed, we then headed off to visit the local market day. The market days are full of fresh local produce and unusual tropical fruits. We found a new fruit called Golden Granadilla the first to ever be grown in Australia. Wow! It is sweet delicious and full of pulp. The Tableland area is the only place in Australia where the fruit will grow commercially. The majority of the first crop is being sent to Sydney. It originated in South America and was known as the favorite fruit of the Incas. Facebook Golden Granadilla.

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Plenty of brochures about the various attractions in the Cairns Highlands and Atherton Tablelands.

fantastic spot to stop and get information on the area as well as wander down a few stairs to a level that has a picnic area as well as toilets. Go down some more stairs and you are at the pool that Malanda Falls cascades into. Just off the road so easy access

Did not see the tree kangaroo but had a nice walk through the rainforest. It was a bit unimpressive after being in the Daintee but it was still really nice.

As a wildlife photographer this is my favourite 'go to' place to find about from the board on the balcony of the centre where and when the most recent tree kangaroo (and other wildlife) sightings have been - yes I'm are not joking these amazing rainforest animals are real. Learn more about them inside the centre, as well as about the volcanic past of the area, Aboriginal history, other local stories ... the list goes on. The staff here are a great group with heaps of information they happily share, and joining Drew on a guided Rainforest Dreaming walk is well worth your time ... he's got so much to tell you about the area and wildlife.Take a picnic and wander through the walks on both sides of the road from the centre, enjoy looking at the rainforest and the Malanda Falls, make sure if you cross the walkway below the falls to not only look at the falls but turn and look downstream too for another photographic view of the water winding into the rainforest. When you are on the walks, take time to just stay in the one spot quietly and see what bird and animals appear, look for the saw-shelled turtles and eels in the water, and scan the trees and ground for signs a tree-kangaroo is around (partially eaten leaves on the ground, a long pendulum that's really a tail hanging from a branch).

Esta cachoeira parece mais uma piscina... tem até uma escadinha na borda pra ir até ela. Muito calma, limpa e segura para o banho... é um pouco gelada...
