A coffee-holics paradise. It's off the beaten track a little, but well worth the detour for the delights found there!! A magical room with over 20 different flavours of coffee to try, as well as Australian grown teas, liqueurs and many delicious chocolates. The entry fee allows you all you can eat/drink access. There is also a gift shop with lots of fun & funky items for sale. There is also a museum of coffee machines from around the world.

Never disappoints. Coffee is always good (and hot), staff are lovely and the whole experience enjoyable. Will always refer visitors to Coffee Works as a must-do.

It was a surprise, we want a coffee after a quick lunch during our trip in the area.We stop here and … a beautiful shop (said by a man is strange!) with a lot of curious things, but the best is the quality and the service of the coffee. Really good !!!Nice location for a stop, I will change my way again just to arrive here.

We love visiting here, staff are so friendly and helpful, plenty of coffees to try, plus teas, yummy chocolates, and liqueurs. Hope not everyone is like me, they certainly didn't make a profit from me, by the time I had finished sampling everything!Excellent place!

We decided to do the tour - great choice. Ate way too much chocolate and tried all the teas. My husband enjoyed the coffees and liqueurs. The museum was awesome, very interesting and educational! The gift shop is also amazing and the chocolate is divine! Definitely recommend going.

The tour of the museum and coffee works is informative and rewarding with the free tasting session left to your own devices to experiment. Well Done. Waiting for others to complete the tour and tastings is also a delight with a well presented interesting shop featuring everything coffee and tea as well as a comprehensive gift shop. Enough time to browse for that gift to take home.In addition the meals, snacks and drinks on offer in the restaurant are well prepared and reasonable and the decor in quirky and interesting.

I just love this place. "Coffee Works" certainly doesn't describe this business fully and it is an amazing place. Not just for Coffee lovers. When you get there you think well that's a big shed!! But the minute you walk in that all changes. There are great unique gifts of all sorts. There is a museum full of coffee and tea paraphernalia dating back decades even centuries tucked away out the back in a large room a delight for the historians and collectors among us . I will now get started on the coffee, it is just delicious. they have the coffee all set up for tasting just great if your not quite sure which blend you would like. My favourite is "Queensland Blue" and "Irish Cream". The CHOCOLATE well that is amazing the variety is unbelievable.The chocolate can also be tasted so that you can choose just the right one or two or three for yourself. I loved the "Chilli" and the "Lemon Myrtle" and the "Choc Beans" and the..........best but I can handle any of it. There is a charge for the self guided tour but great value for money. For those who prefer not to take the tour option there is a coffee shop for coffee, meals etc and an extensive unique gift shop. But don't miss the chocolate room where you can see the staff making the chocolate right in front of you and if you smile nicely they even give you a taste of the chocolates. So no fee if you just want a coffee or lunch. The staff are very friendly and not at all pushy and can also help you with your selection. Your coffee purchase can be ground for your preference or just buy the beans. I love this place. Did quite a bit of Xmas shopping there.

fab place ,visited the coffee works while staying in mareeba with family ,a nice place to stop of while cycling around the area ,plenty of parking and coffee and cakes to die for ,well worth a visit sum really lovely gifts on show to ,defo go back when in mareeba next yr

...with a side of tea and chocolate.We were very impressed with the meticulously curated museum containing many pieces from around the world.Like other great museums this 'centre of coffee' has more than enough for the casual visitor. It would also be an excellent starting point for someone looking to dedicate an extended period of time researching coffee.It really is a gem in FNQ and worth the trip from Pt Douglas or Cairns.

When I lived in FNQ I used to bring visitors here all the time. I now live in Tasmania and make purchases online. I have never received packages so quickly before. If there is the slightest issue, even if it's not coffee works fault, they will replace any item. We are spending Christmas in the US, most of our gifts are purchases from Coffee Works. Overall quality is fantastic.

I had heard some good reports about this place, so I travelled to Mareeba and went to Coffee Works Attraction.Talk about Information overload...Warning Warning....This place is not a 30 minute attraction, you will need at least a couple of hours minimum.You can stay outside the museum and indulge yourself in looking at the nick nacks, browse the Chocolate making area and that could suffice.Then again, you can pay the $15 per head and walk into the museum area and let the fun begin.You have unlimited unfetted access to the many different varieties of chocolate on display, plus you can taste as much coffee from all over Australia and the world until your eyes pop out.My favourites...Lemon scented, chilli and coconut chocolate.Then their is the chocolate liqueurs, so it is best to work out who will be driving home...really, the liqueurs have some serious alcohol in them, but they taste devine.....Then there is the museum proper, a very well laid out and created exhibition where you will learn everything about the history of Coffee and Tea.A very nice place to visit.

You can spend hours at Coffee Works in Mareeba so make sure you have plenty of time on hand. There are 21 different coffees to taste such as Luciano classified as an exceptional espresso, opulent aroma, sensuous mellow flavour and superb finish. Gosh it was lovely. Then there are Robertas, Cosmic, Serengeti Sunrise and Papua New Guinea Dark just to mention a few. You might not be a coffee freak but it is definitely time to go berserk surrounded by the seducing aromas of the place. Try the Ethiopian – original mocha beans, rounded, creamy chocolate notes with a smooth finish. I am still dreaming of this lovely coffee.You must taste the three local coffees available grown by Coffee Works at their plantation at Walkermin. They are Black Mountain, Queensland Blue and Australian Gold. We were lucky to watch coffee being roasted. This happens twice a week but not during school holidays. You can also taste some four different teas and don’t forget to try out all the fabulous chocolates. They are Yummy I can tell. All the chocolates are made on the premises and you can watch this process as well. Coffee Works makes three different liqueurs. Black Top Coffee, Silver Top Chocolate and Gold Top Coffee. Wow they were all great. The museum is a must do and it has a self-guided audio tour at your own leisure. Heaps of informative posters and to me it looked like a thousand coffee pots, machinery and other related stuff. Upstairs there is a great collection of tea pots. It is great stuff. We spend three hours there, loved the place and will return one day.

Wondefully friendly service by a young French lady, who was very welcoming to my two young children. The coffee varieties were great, although I would have preferred a little more information as to whether they were fair trade or not. The chocolates were also super yummy and wow does that chilli chocolate pack a punch! The teas and liqueuers were also good.The real draw card for me though was the museum which contained a number of brilliantly themed rooms containing coffee paraphernalia from all time periods and all regions of the world. The audio was very imformative and although the presenter does sound a little bored, he is obviously very knowledgable and provides a wealth of information on hundreds of items. A quiz keeps the kids entertained especially with the promise of a prize at the end. Overall, we stayed about twice as long as we had intended and thoroughly enjoyed every minute!

Lovely experience. Great friendly, informative staff. Reasonable entry fee. Loved trying all the coffee, tea, liquors and chocolates. Great experience over all.

The service was terrible and FAR from welcoming. They wouldn't bother adding a piece of avocado on an overpriced BLT because it was too much trouble for the chef - despite it being on the menu for another item. Can't even shop for souvenir as the smallest thing will cost a fortune. This used to be a cool place to stop on the way to or from the Tablelands, but they seems to think way too highly of themselves and think it's ok to rip not only the tourists off but the locals as well. Seriously, there are lots of family held shops up in the Tablelands, Coffee Works is a rip off. Food wasn't even good...
