Had a great time walking up the hill, good to do when it's maybe not so hot as it a good climb for the first half of the walk, great views of the local area, good signage and view points
Many people use this walk as an alternative to regular exercise. It is a tough walk and you need a good level of fitness to get up. The lookouts are great and it's a good feeling when you make it right up the top and the view is beautiful :) it's super fun to run down the 'flat' side too.
Enjoyable scenic walk around hill overlooking Keppel bay and the islands. Seats to rest along the way, and picnic area at the base near carpark.
We drove from Yeppoon to do a pretty little walk at Bluff point then went onto do Pinnacle point too.
Great short walking track with plenty of parking available, well signposted, easy walk and brilliant views.
Lovely views of the surrounding islands and beaches along the walk and good path. Well worth the climb!
The path around Bluff Point provides enough adventure for the young ones and easy enough for the older ones. We always find it great fun as a family exercise. It's a shame there aren't any other walking tracks around the coast (besides the Double Head walking track) for families.
We have walked this track on and off for 20 years and still do so regularly. It has been much improved by the National Parks and Wildlife Service over the years and offers great views from the lookouts and summit. Great exercise for the whole family and with a grassed play area, barbeques and tables at the base it makes an ideal spot for a healthy family outing. It is great to see so many more people of all ages using the track than used to years ago. A couple of criticisms - the road into the track and carpark area has incredibly deep potholes - very noticeable in a smaller conventional car. Also, despite signs clearly saying no domestic animals, we constantly see dogs being walked over the track, something not seen years ago when there were sufficient Parks staff to patrol and maintain the park. Not pleasant for families to have to be watching for dog poo in the bbq area or for native animals exposed to domestic animal parasites.
I enjoyed a lovely walk with my Son up Bluff Point at 7 am, the morning was cool and clear with blues skies stretching as far as the eye could see. The views are fantastic.
Bluff Point is a 2.3km circuit track with two lookout points overlooking the ocean and bay. It is located 7km from Yeppoon (head towards Emu Park) and is just up the road from the Rosslyn Bay turnoff. The walk is paved or graveled and the steps quite even for an outdoor track. The circuit goes through grassland and dry rain-forest, and at a leisurely pace with plenty of photo stops it took us under an hour. At the base there is a picnic area and a walkway to the beach. The only thing to be wary of was the mosquitoes - they swarmed us on the track in the morning. I recommend applying insect repellent before going up the Bluff.
