You had unfortunately come to us after the conclusion of a busy lunch service on this particular day, and we did our best to accommodate you. We’re sorry that you didn’t enjoy your platter. I did however offer you some replacement food on this occasion, once again doing my best to accommodate your needs.Here at Blue Pyrenees we support the employment of local junior staff, and the development and training of these staff is very important to us. These juniors are valuable members of our plate service team, but due to age requirements have not been trained in wine appreciation and are unable to sell wine or conduct tastings. To ask their opinion is acceptable, but to expect an educated response is unreasonable. Despite these setbacks, we’re glad that you enjoyed the peaceful natural surroundings—the setting here certainly is a treat. We hope you’ll return to enjoy the cellar door experience again.

Hi Joan,We apologise for your negative experience at our cellar door. Yes, we have been through quite a lot of change over the last year. However, we now have an exciting new team in place, with a barista present each day. We hope you will return to try our new menu, and take the time to sample the multiple award-winning wines on offer. After all, here in Avoca we are so lucky to have an internationally recognised winery so close to home! If you should visit again we'd love to offer you and your daughter a complimentary coffee so that you can see the improvement for yourself.

Sorry for the slower than usual service but you happened to visit the week-end after our Blue Pyrenees Midnight Cuvee was announced World Champion Australian sparkling wine and the phone was ringing off the hook with orders. Hope you understand and please come back again to try these fabulous wines.

Went to the Blue Cafe for lunch. Extremely disorganised. Staff were all new and were unfamiliar how to run the register. Service was very slow to deliver our orders. The food on arrival was okay. The menu offers very predictable food for the most part. If you are on a food and wine tour of the region, look elsewhere.

Great staff and a beautiful lunch menu on Fridays. . Excellent wines.. a little out of town but a beautiful place with excellent wine tasting ..cheap meals ..great value .

Blue Pyrenees Estate came to my attention nearly 20 years ago and I am always keen to revisit. Great wines, lovely outlook and surrounded by other nice wineries. This is a must visit winery when I pass through the region.Just a small note:Little disappointed with the service at the Cellar Door in the last 6 months.- cheese platters have become smaller but the price has gone up.- wait staff forgetting parts of the order.- Menu items not available/sold out at 1.00pm for lunch.

Hi Melinda, It was such a shame to hear of your disappointing visit. I have since contacted the limo company and they confirmed that there was no booking so we apologize about the miscommunication. We were slightly under staffed and unfortunately due to the rural location this can happen from time to time. We do our best but occasionally if someone is ill we just have to carry on.Saturday was so busy that we in fact sold out of our cakes. Others were being prepared but would not have been ready during your visit. We were sorry you missed out. We would love to rectify your experience with us at any time.Our wines aren’t often on display as we keep a lot in the fridge and like to have a clean and tidy tasting bench for people to enjoy.
