lake benalla walking track

By far the best part of this walk is the Benalla Ceramic Mural. The mural took twenty years to make and had all of the community involved. It's very reminiscent of Gaudi's Parc Guell in Barcelona Spain. Just perfect!

The lake walk is a lovely place to walk/run. It surrounds the Benalla Lake and there are plenty of birds to watch. The track goes through the bush which is a lovely peaceful place to walk and then through the town, with plenty to see. I think its just over 4kms, so a perfect distance!

Nice park and track to get a bit of fresh air and to clear the head. Easy to find in the town, not too strenuous for a walk or jog.

Give this a try we were travelling from Colac to Canberra and Benalla was a excellent stopover, This was a excellent walk set me up for the drive to Canberra

How lovely to stroll around the lake, particularly early in the morning or at dusk. The pathway is actually a boardwalk in parts which adds to the natural feeling of the place. It's a well-maintained area with a natural bushland edge and abundant wildlife. One can also access both the Art Gallery and Museum, two of the most popular attractions directly from the walkway.

Lovely and peaceful walk not taxing so good for the I don't walk brigade. You can see some bird life on the lake and in the trees.

Well laid out, the animals, ducks and waterbirds, the views and the brilliant ceramic mural. There is a lot of history in Benalla and it is slowly being revealed. Looooved the ROTARY (and others) excersise bikes......

the scenery around the lake is spectacular. love the exercise stations recently installed, they are great to loosen up after a walk!

A dog friendly area where they can be off leash. The lake is beautiful and tracks are nicely made - not all concrete.

A walk around the lake will take around an hour and is a must do when in Benalla, if your not here for the day get up early and do it before breakfast, a great start for your day.

The walk around Lake Benalla is a wonderful way to see the gallery and parklands surrounding the lake. It has a great boardwalk and the mural is a highlight worth investigation

The lake walk is very easy to do. It's easy enough to push a stroller around or even for an older person also.There's plenty of shade and also seating along the way.

Easy track to wander along with lots to see.The track varies in surface, shade etc depending on how much you undertake.

Flat good walking track around the lake. Dont have to be super fit to walk it. Take your time and enjoy!

Enjoyed our walk around the lake (think it took us a bit over an hour). Interesting things to stop and look at on the way (Botanic garden, art gallery, ceramic mural, "Weary" Dunlop Memorial).... Lots of diverse birdlife as we made our way around the lake and onto the little islands. Walking trail is clearly marked and easy to follow.
