Great place to relax. Have to see the begonia house. The flowers were beautiful. Great view from the tower
There is a tower to climb, however the view long ago obscured by the wonderful trees in the park. We wandered a while then laid down on the soft grass and watched the birds fly limb to limb and enjoyed the peace and ambiance of this lovely park
It was nice there but there is limited table and chairs. They are not positioned well, one was near the toilets with no views. The view is lovely overlooking the countryside, seats would be nice scattered around so you could sit and have a picnic.
A lovely area to walk or drive around on a sealed road. Good views of the surrounding areas with many large trees and grassy areas. A great picnic place and some historical attractions on the summit. A very peaceful place.
There is no view from this cafe which really is amazing since the gardens are so lovely and the views outstanding. Therefore you could be anywhere in Victoria, which we found very disappointing. But even more so were the high prices. They are about 30% more than most solid cafes in the area, and while the food is very pleasant, the service is not as good as some of the owner operated ones around, and very casual. And you have to order at the bar??Lives on the reputation of being owned by the Lakehouse...poor show.
These gardens are well worth a visit on a scorching hot day or in the middle of winter, we have done both. There are glimpses of magnificent vues, then a surprise of a vista that makes you stand still and just look. As you walk amongst the variant of foliage you are surprised at every turn with birds and wildlife in abundance. It is such a privilege to walk amongst such a natural garden. The little café, we did not visit this time but it was recommended to us as providing light delicious meals.
The cafe here has a good variety of food and drinks. We loved the location and sat outside which was very pleasant. The staff were pleasant and the service was prompt. We then had a stroll around the gardens. We would come back and again and bring out of state visitors with us as we loved the location.
We drove through the garden and realised that it is a nice place for a picnic. It is small garden and has couple of look outs with a good view of the surroundings
Nice park, nice trees. The tower is worth a trip up a few stairs. Food was ok, but not fantastic, but $13 for a pre-made baguette is a bit rich for mine.
The botanical gardens sit high on a hill overlooking the Daylesford landscape. The gardens themselves are filled with an array of flora and fauna, some trees were planted over 100 years ago. There is even one tree planted by Prince Charles. There's a green house to wander around, rotunda to relax in and a cafe to rest those weary legs and grab a coffee or lunch. It's definitely worth a visit.
Located in the middle of the botanical gardens, this little gem is well worth visiting - some lovely food to be had amongst the delightful gardens.
Visited in mid Nov. Nice garden with plenty of flowers. Great views at the top of the tower. Could have spent more time to walk around!
A nice place to spend an hour strolling around, or having a picnic. Free parking and a little local cafe (didn't try this though).
we spent a happy morning walking around these gardens, lovely to see such a variety of plants. Cafe was nice too, lovely setting
Well worth a visit and the cafe is lovely too. Although a little off the main st it is well worth venturing up to the gardens and walking around them.
