Worth a look if your passing, would be nice if you could see more of the inside and how it worked, mostly view from the outside by walking around.

Amazing flashback to a time when mining didn't need an environmental impact statement! The damage this monster did to Reedy Creek and those who had to work in it is testament to the scale of gold mining in this area. I was expecting a few bits of rusty metal but found an asbestos rich metal monster. Hard not to be impressed. Don't miss out on walking right round the pond.

I am interested by the gold mining era in Australia. The dredge is a remnant of those days and is an amazing site. Incredible to see its size and learn the stories of how it was constructed and used to continue the gold and tin mining boom.

The gold dredge was about a 15-20 min walk from the centre of Eldorado. You can also drive down but I think walking is a nicer way to take in country towns. The gold dredge was an interesting sight. It must have been a big operation when it was up and running. The entire dredge loop path was about 700 meters. If you are staying in Eldorado a quick visit is recommended as you learn a little of its history.

We were amazed at the size and scale of the dredge; it was like going on a huge ghost ship. The history was fascinating, do not miss it!
