Me and my family enjoy this fabulous museum most especially my kids. The display vehicles were fantastic and we really enjoy it.Apart from the cars and Harley Davidson motorbikes, there was a historical information about Furphy"s founder and some of their wagon, farm water cart and their old working area with tools around it. We highly recommend this museum...
With the vehicles changing every two to three months, there is always something new and interesting to see. The air conditioning is fantastic so it's lovely in there on a hot day (something to consider, who wants to be in a big tin shed when it's overwhelmingly hot and stuffy?? :) ) Graham and Tony are very friendly and helpful, great to chat to. Great gift shop to pick up something different for the "hard to buy for" member of the family. There's more to look at here than just cars too, there is a Furphy Museum here too - great history. Drop in for a look around (and the coffee is really good at the Bakery next door too!!!!).
I'm not a car enthusiast so, to be honest, I was prepared to be bored silly while my partner drooled over cars. However, I was surprised and delighted. There were many other interesting exhibits, apart from the cars, with interesting historical information. For example, there was a whole room dedicated to Furphys, which were apparently made in Shepparton (news to me!). There were interesting life-sized displays of garages and other things, and a show car (ie. one used for entering car shows). It was a great visit.
The display of vehicles were fantastic. Dating back to our grandparents days and an amazing remote controlled car which we were told had been custom built by Shepparton locals, a one of the kind, purely custom built in the area, displaying a metallic purple coat of paint and with orange leather interior. Colours to die for. Learning about the Furphy family business company and their contribution to Australia was very educational, opening our eyes to items we have seen while travelling. This amazing company still continues to service Australia.
My father, who worked in the automotive industry all his working life, really enjoyed the variety of vehicles on display here. They also have travelling exhibitions on display from time to time so you're likely to find new and interesting things to see after a while.
Very well set up and varied display featuring both old and new vehicles and bikes. Particularly liked the new Furphy section
This American girl loves her classic American muscle cars and this place had everything I could possibly want to see. I wish we could have visited in September to see the whole range of Shelby classics! Either way, we had a blast checking out cars and motorcycles. Show your RACV card for a discount! It's totally worth it!
Great to see the cars also the antique centre next door. Easy access and parking. Bargains at antique centre.
The entry cost is good value. The displays are fantastic and the surrounding area is great for the family. The little eateries are fairly priced.
Great Museum with a really interesting collection of not only cars, but motorcycles and period costumes and memorabilia. The exhibitions change every three months or so. The recent addition of the Furphy Museum is a bonus. Plenty to see and do at Emerald Bank - a lovely day out for the family.
The museum is definitely worth a visit on your next trip to Shepparton. The cars and motorbikes are well presented and the staff very knowledgable . The recent addition of The Furphy section is excellent and I learnt a lot about a truly Australin icon.
If you are in Shepparton and have some time this museum is worth a visit especially if you have an interest in all things mechanical . The museum frequently has special displays in addition to the regular exhibits
If you like looking at an usual collection of old motor vehicles this is the place to go! Real mixture of older and more modern vehicles, including some commercial vehicles from Shepperton's past. Well worth a visit.
Reasonable value for money ($7 entry). Some interesting cars, but I would like to see more cars in future.
Dedicated disabled parking. Museum was smaller than I expected but had a variety of cars from different eras. Most of the bikes are on a mezzanine level so the guy on reception apologised in advance.
