Dad and I had been looking forward to this cooking class for months and it didn't disappoint. The class was terrific and the staff so helpful and wonderful. It was lovely to invite family to join us and sit down and enjoy the food afterwards and we had a wonderful time playing Jenga on the lawn afterwards. The only criticism I would make is that the class should be longer as there was no time to stop and have a bit of fun as we had to achieve a lot in the short time, we also didn't make to make the risotto as we ran out of time. Katrina made it for us so we still got to enjoy it. I would just suggest maybe cutting out the coffee and cake (which was lovely though) and getting cooking earlier maybe making the class run a little a longer so we didn't feel under the pump so much. Don't get me wrong. so enjoyable! I did a cooking class in Thailand and that went all day to achieve the same amount of food.
A fine way to spend a morning in the King Valley is to join Katrina Pizzini in her cooking school. In our class we prepared gnocchi and pasta which were included in the dishes served for lunch. Half way through the morning Fred Pizzini appeared with some Slippery Jack mushrooms which he made into a dish to go with the gnocchi - along with Katrina's basil sauce. It was a great pleasure to join with others in sharing the food traditions passed down from the Pizzini parents.
